Down by the riverside...

The Grand River is about 3 miles from our house and right now it's pretty high because of all the rain we've had.  On the river near us, they've made a little park area with a boat launch and picnic area.  I stopped there the other day to check it out.

This picture really shows the flooding.  The tree in the middle of the photo is usually on the riverbank and the area in the front of the picture is a drive that goes around to the front of that tree.  All summer, there are people fishing over there.
This is not unusual, this area floods every Spring.

A beautiful house on the river.

This guy said the fishing was good.

It's always interesting to see how high the water is under the overpass.

These trees are usually on the bank of the river, but now the water is overtaking them.

Another area where you can see how the water is in the woods.

Wild violets blooming.

And trees coming to life.

The riverside is a pretty place to walk.

Interesting pictures. The river does look like a nice place to walk. All of our rivers around here are very low on water or dried up.

This is a big beautiful house. But it is a bit too close to the river. Doesn't it ever flood?

Just out of curiosity, what kind of fish was that guy catching?

There's always some action surrounding a river, a major nature element. It has to be "tamed" before it starts causing damage with its flooding.

Those pictures remind me of the Huron River that goes through Ann Arbor. It's pretty and probably over its banks too!

What a pretty place and the home was gorgeous but my favorite was under the bridge.

There's a lot of fishin' goin' on here too. I got tired of it now that I'm old and grumpy and everything hurts. *lol* I'll just buy my food at the store.
Wonderful photos.
Blessings. xx

That is a beautiful place, for sure! Seeing the photo under the overpass made me think of my hometown in Ohio. We would ice skate on the canal that fed into our Buckeye Lake. The ice under the overpass was SO smooth... like glass. We love skating under the overpass! Hopefully, the floodwaters will recede before going any higher! That lovely house looks high enough but makes me wonder just how bad it could get!

I wonder if the people that live in that house worry that the river will go so high it floods their house? All the photos are very beautiful.

What a nice place to live. That house on the river is pretty. Since living here, by the Sacramento River, I have grown to appreciate rivers. I grew up near the pacific ocean. I do like rivers and creeks...and all the wildlife they bring.

Boy, you're getting some nice weather - looks like everything is growing after a long winter. IT really is a special season.

There are places around here that flood every spring too. It always amazes me how fast it goes down once the sun is out for a few days.
