Cooking Thursday
We have fairly frequent potlucks at our church. Several months ago, following the potluck, there were a bunch of people waiting to see who had brought a particular dish because it was so good. This included a few guys which is unusual. We figured out who brought it, and got the recipe! I made it and it may be the easiest recipe I've made - perfect for a potluck, and as I told you, it's very good!
Raspberry Fluff
16 ounces thawed Cool Whip
32 ounces Vanilla Yogurt
1 large package (6 ounce) Vanilla Pudding (dry mix)
1 bag frozen raspberries (or other fruit of your choice)
Stir together the Cool Whip and Yogurt, then stir in the pudding mix.
Add frozen raspberries and stir.
Refrigerate overnight or for several hours before serving.

A little more fun in Dearborn
We visited Henry Ford's home in Dearborn. Unfortunately, it's being renovated so you can't go inside. But, visitors are free to walk the yard and gardens, which even at this time of year are beautiful.
A walled garden on the other side of the house. There were all kinds of roses growing here, so it will soon be a beautiful spot!
A statue of Henry and Clara Ford.
We really enjoyed wandering around the home and yard and hope to return someday to tour the interior.

I'm back!
We checked into our hotel and decided to walk the 3/4 mile to the restaurant to enjoy the city streets. It's fun to see the different buildings.
Here we are the next morning, ready to take on the museum. This is like no other museum I've been to and is an all day adventure.
One of the first things we saw was a bunch of presidential cars. The top one was Franklin Roosevelts, bottom right was Theodore Roosevelts carriage and the bottom left was the car JFK was in when he was assasinated.
Thomas Edison was a good friend of Henry Ford, and signed his name in the cement when the museum was being built.
This is a Stradivarius violin that was owned by Henry Ford. He could play it, but played it in the style of a fiddle.

Wordless Wednesday
I'm taking a little break for the rest of the week. Bob and I are taking a short getaway, which I'll tell you about next week. See you soon!

A day at the park
Last week we were scheduled to watch Cassie and Connor, so Heather and Andrew could go to a wedding. Unfortunately, Andrew's Dad ended up in the hospital so Andrew had to be with him and they couldn't go. We decided to have a fun day anyway, and went with the kids and Heather to a park we'd never visited before. It's on the Grand River, so it's beautiful, but had great places for the kids to play too.
This is just one of 3 play areas
The kids liked the play area more than the river. :)
We all had a great time!

Mothers Day!
It was Mothers Day in the U.S. today. My girls and their families came over for supper on Saturday so we could celebrate.
They told me they were coming, and not to worry about anything - they would have it all. And they did! We had such a lovely meal!
This is the cutest little crocheted cactus, that Heather gave me because I can't keep plants alive in the house. :) The card is a picture Cassie drew of her family and the little blue things are flowers. I also got a gift card to use to by a planter for the porch.
This park used to have a resort on the property where people would come by train from Chicago to enjoy in the early 1900's. This house was the owners home and it's been restored. Today, a few volunteers had it open so people could come in and see it.
