Campfire

Sunday night Laura and Aaron asked us to come over and enjoy their new fire pit with them. Heather had gone out earlier with them so she was also there. It was a perfect night for this. The sky was clear and the stars were twinkling above us. It was cool enough for us to enjoy the fire. Their dog Sofie was enjoying the company, as was a friends dog that they were taking care of for the weekend. We roasted a few marshmallows and enjoyed their toasty goodness. (Sofie enjoyed a few too!) There is something so relaxing about sitting by a fire, watching the flames flicker and listening to the crackling of the wood. We also enjoyed watching the dogs playing with each other and smelling the wood smoke in the air. What a nice evening - dogs, family, campfire and marshmallows. Who could ask for more on a cool September night?

:) We have a fire in our firepit every Friday night with a varied assortment of our neighbors. It's a new weekly tradition but one we'll continue next year. I love me a fire. Oh, and if you like coconut, try roasting the coconut covered marshmallows next time. They take it to a whole new and delicious level. Hugs -

I love sitting by the fire on cooler nights. Sounds like fun, but I don't recall Laura calling us to come over to enjoy with her!

Oh- so now you like the dogs? Now that they're not near enough to kiss you? I see...

It was a nice night - we'll have to do it again!
