A Happier Cassie

Andrew and Heather stopped by with Cassie this weekend.  You may remember that she stayed with us a few weekends ago and missed her parents the whole time. Since then, she's not done well in church nursery either, so it appears she's going through one of those phases.

She was much happier this time, because the parents were here!

She loves boxes.  In this case it was a kleenex box, and putting the kleenex in and out of the opening.

If she can, she likes to put herself in the box!

This toy makes noise and plays music.  She's a fan of that!

She is always happy with her Papa!
Hopefully this separation anxiety doesn't last too long, and she can come spend the night again soon.  However, we always enjoy seeing all of them and we had a nice evening.

She is adorable! Isn't family wonderful? That is a cute age and it's funny the things that entertain the little ones.

We have an extremely close bond with our grandchildren as you know. Although our granddaughters never had nor still have seperation anxiety from their mommy or daddy, two things I always did that helped them feel more comfortable was to tell mommy and daddy to let them bring something from home like a blanket or stuffed animal. It has that home smell on it. Also, a life saver was, I took two of Poppies old t-shirts and sprayed his cologne on it. Oh my goodness, these granddaughters took them and to this day they still sleep with it and take naps with it. Especially if Poppie is out of town. Then I printed off a close up pic of him and laminated it. They would walk around with it and hug and kiss it. It helped so much.
Of course I have all kinds of things in our home for them just like their home. Our living room is full of toys. Poppie asked when he could have his living room back and I told him after they turn 18 lol.
I love Artisan bread. I bake mine on a pizza stone and it is so crusty and delicious. Yours looks very good.

Some of the phases our little ones go through are just the pits for all. Glad is was a good visit and looks like she had fun with the boxes.

Don't remember how long these "stages" last. But it won't be over, 'till it's over, that's for sure. -grin-

Gentle hugs,

It's a sweet age, but comes with its issues! I am sure she will be out of this phase in no time. She is a cutie.

I'm sure she will outgrow this stage soon. :)

Mari, she is so adorable!! I remember Ruby climbing on everything and now Cassie wants to get into boxes. They are growing up so fast, though! Thanks for sharing her with us!! xo

She is an absolute living dolly! And I remember both of my kiddos going through those phases. Thankfully they do outgrow it in time, and I bet she'll be begging to stay at Grandma's and make all those fun crafts on the regular. 💕

That's a very normal stage. My children all went through it and most certainly were not ready for an overnight at her age. But they definitely all outgrew it, haha!
