Peonies

Peonies are one of my favorite flowers. These are in our backyard. I am always amazed by how quickly they change. These pictures are each taken 1 day apart. The sad part is, this also means they don't stay around long, so I have to enjoy them while I can!

We have ... er, had ... beautiful bright pink ones and white ones. The fierce wind and rain here this morning was too much for them. I'm hoping more bloom.

you have such a green thumb!!! these are beautiful! thank you for sharing your garden pics here. my "garden" (or my excuse for one) is finally looking nice, but it certainyl does NOT come easy. I am good at killing plants...even the so-called-hardy ones! so I enjoy the stroll through your pretty flowers :)

My peonies are long gone. Yes, what a beautiful flower. Like the way you captured their fast opening. I cut several of mine and we enjoyed them on the table for a few days.

Mari,

Love that vibrant pink! WOW truly is so amazing how quick that can pop open and show the Lord their beautiful faces looking up at Him. We should follow by their example.

In my book you just don't get any prettier than pink peonies!

I love the smell of peonies. We have one plant. You are right, they don't last long. Yours are beautiful!!

I love peonies too. Unfortunately, in Oregon they usually get soggy in the rain and don't look as pretty as yours. BTW, I loved your comment on my blog about feeding the birds by hand. Isn't that a cool feeling? I took my older daughter to England when she was about 12 and in London we were able to feed sparrows that came and perched on our hands. An old man had been doing it at the spot for years and the sparrows knew him. They were much nicer than the pigeons in Trafalgar Square!

Aren't they the most beautiful flower....yours are darker than mine but in any color they are georgeous....I am like you I really wish they would stay around alittle longer....such a short life but oh so grand.....

You leave me the sweetest comments and I look forward to each of them.
Thank you dear friend....

Hugs and blessings,

Beautiful photos, Mari! Looks like out of a magazine! I love the series with the elasped time!!!

Thank you for your sweet comment on my Friday post, The House that Built Me. My Friday post regarding the Miranda Lambert song was also personal to my readers. I received several emails and comments of your childhood homes and how your childhood home "built" you. What a beautiful song, what a beautiful sentiment. Scrappy Dee left a comment about her grandmothers home and how meaningful and special that it was to her. She also suggested that I have a Mr. McLinky party where we could share our special house that built "you". I would love to hear a special memory of growing up in your special place, or perhaps it is your home now. Share photographs too!

We will have the "House that Built Me" Party on Friday June 18!!!!

Hopefully that will give you enough time to think about, type and publish your post.

I will post Mr. McLinky on Thursday night June 17th, following Thrifty Thursday. I hope to have the link up by 8PM, assuming there are no linky issues. So, join me won't you, in sharing your special memories. Think of it as a progressive house warming party. That's exactly what it is!

What a gorgeous, intense pink!

I felt that way about the lilacs we had in the yard at the parsonage; so quickly gone!

Makes us appreciate them all the more for the short time we have them :D

The same thing goes for lilacs. I have to enjoy them fast!

How pretty! I would have never guessed what they were. I'm so bad at knowing what most flowers are!

I love peonies. Some old folks back home call them pinies! In Ohio, they bloomed for Memorial Day so for some reason, I associated them with graveyards.
I guess they were the flower that was in bloom at that time and we picked them and put them on the graves.

I love how you put them in a collage.

Being a Chinese, peonies are very special to me. I love peonies and am planning on getting a tattoo with peony design.
