Bob's latest art

Most of you know Bob does a lot of woodworking and wood carving. He recently finished something that was a different type of woodwork.

He'd been thinking about all the things going on in the world that bother those of us who are Christians and also thinking of the hope we have!
So, he started working on a wooden sculpture to place at our church, to remind us of that hope.

Here it is. Most of his carvings have a lot of detail, but this one is intentionally left with minimal details, so anyone can picture themselves in it.

It's a mom and dad, with a little girl, a family - the unit God placed us all in.  They are looking to the eastern sky, anticipating Christs return because that's where their hope is.  The little girl however, is looking to her parents, because that's what kids do.  This reminds parents that their kids are watching them and they need to be teaching them the right things and telling them about the hope we have in Christ.

Here is a little place where there is some detail.  This is the little girls hair with a braid in the back.

This is the sign at the base.  It says:

anticipation!
Lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.
Luke 21:28

A nice reminder of the most important thing in life... families.
Your husband did a beautiful job of illustrating family, and a beautiful reminder that our lives are eternal, and we have a loving Heavenly Father that cares about us.
Yes, our Savior is the answer to the challenges that these times present.
When we put our Savior first in everything and live according to His example, then we know that we are on the right path!

Your hubby is very talented. Is the wood treated, since it's an outside piece? As a person who can't even draw a decent stick figure, I really admire artists.

In answer to Sandy, the pieces have several layers of a clear protective coating that should protect it from the elements for some time.

This brought instant tears to my eyes. Bob's work is soulful without being preachy. So effective. I love the minimalism and symbolism. We need to be constantly reminding one another and encouraging one another that this truly is OUR Father's world, and He will have His will in the end. It's our job to trust and obey, and be a good example of the believer. Thank Bob for me, for being so true to the heavenly vision! xoxo

How beautiful, Bob/Mari.

So much to be thankful for,and our hope is what brings us together.
We are indeed in trying times, but it's our faith in the Lord that binds us.
