The week that was...

Here's a little rundown on last week.

It was a week of crazy weather!
Tuesday was Bob's birthday.  He worked all day, I had the day off and made one of his favorite meals for supper.  We weren't celebrating until the weekend, so we went out for ice-cream after supper.  When we left the sun was shining.  It takes about 10 minutes to get there and by the time we got to the drive through it was starting to rain pretty hard.  After we got our ice cream, it was raining down buckets, so hard I could hardly see.  About 30 minutes later, the sun was out again.  I should have gotten a photo.

Wednesday I was at work, it suddenly got so dark, it really looked like it was nighttime.  Torrential rain came down, the wind was crazy!  The Dr I work with said the last time he'd seen weather like that was when he was working in Florida and was in a hurricane.
There were trees down around here and many people had power outages for several days.
We were lucky that our power stayed on!

Thursday we had a similar thing.  This huge storm came over Lake Michigan and before we knew it, we were getting dumped on.  Again, it didn't last too long and soon the sun was shining.

Guess what we did Friday night?  We ate at a restaurant!  They are finally open here in Michigan.  This was the first time we'd been out (other than our excursion to Indiana) since the beginning of March.  It was so nice.  Bob had fish, I had fajitas.  Yum!

Saturday night we had a family gathering for the first time since Covid.  My Dad, stepmom, brother, sister and BIL all came over for supper and to celebrate Fathers Day and my step moms birthday.  It was good to be together again.  I forgot to take a picture!

Sunday night we plan to have Laura, Aaron and girls, and Heather and Andrew for supper to celebrate Fathers Day and Bob's birthday.  That's also a first since Covid.  We are really looking forward to it.

Hope your week was just as nice!

Wow, you are getting some storms. Hope this week brings you some sunshine. Your dinner out looks delicious. So glad you are able to get together with your family. Have a good week.

Those are dramatic clouds. Thankfully you only had rain. Happy Birthday to Bob. His fish and chips look delicious. Restrictions here are cautiously being lifted. In regards to get togethers we are advised to have 'few faces, big spaces'. Even so there are now reports of 3 western families that had get togethers over the past 2 weeks and now have numerous cases of Covid 19. Personally I am still isolating. Have a safe and happy week ahead.

It’s that time of year again, hurricane season. I’m glad things are opening up again. They are starting to soon here in Massachusetts.

I've been waiting patiently to dine out. Those storms, I read, are from the tropical storm Cristobal that hit the Gulf coast and moved up the entire USA to Michigan. Happy birthday to Bob.

I know you and Bob enjoyed eating out. The food looks delicious. We've had a few thunderstorms in the last couple of days. I'm thankful you have not lost power. Hope the week ahead is a nice one for you.

Those storms that come so quick are strange and then they dont last long and the hot sun comes out and we get humidity. I know you enjoyed eating out after such a long time and the food looks so good.

There have been some crazy storms going around there. Glad you were able to have dinner with Bob, at a restaurant. Our restaurants here in Texas have been open for a while now but can you believe, we still haven't gone out to eat?

Hope you have a blessed week my friend.
xoxo

I think y'all were getting the leftovers from that storm Cristobal. I love seeing Bob, happy belated Birthday.

Wow on the restaurant! Here, that just opened, however, you have to wear a mask until your food gets to the table. How stupid is that?

Hope you have a beautiful day friend.

Those quick and powerful storms can be so scary. Glad you are were spared damage. No eating out here yet except for takeout or outside seating at restaurants. We aren't gathering either except for distancing outside visits. We still have too much Covid here. This too shall pass, I hope!

That is an angry-looking sky for sure. Wow! We have eaten out three times and it sure is nice to be out and about again! Your meals look delicious! Nice that you are celebrating birthdays and Father's Day with the family! I loved reading this post, Mari!

Well it's about time! We've been getting together throughout all of this so it hasn't been so bad for us. But we have enjoyed going out to eat again. A belated but no less sincere Happy Birthday to Bob, and I hope y'all have a wonderful time at your family gathering for Father's Day. xoxo

Your storms look/sound so bad. Glad it was mostly okay. Happy Birthday to your hubby! I know you are glad to be seeing family again!

Glad the storms didn't do any damage at your place. They can be so scary!

How wonderful that you are being able to get together. I'm in a difficult position with differing opinions among various family members as to what is safe and what is not safe. I change my opinion several times a day sometimes. Ugh!

What crazy weather. Great stormy shot.
Here, we're still having to dine outdoors, or we can order and pick up curbside. My tastes run like Bob's, LOL. Can't wait to get me some fish and chips.
