Evolution of Worship Music - A Cappella Medley

I saw this video recently and really enjoyed seeing little clips of worship music encompassing almost 1500 years of music!  It starts and ends with Be Thou my Vision, which was written in 560!
Hope you enjoy this too.

I have to say I love the old hymns best but I had to smile when they sang Pass it On. We sang that at college worship back in the day.:)

So beautiful, Mari! My favorite of all "Amazing Grace". Do they all look the same to you?

Thanks so much for sharing!

I loved this and saved it so I can watch again.

I wonder how it was made, with the same person singing all the parts.

You lost me at 1969. Give me the old hymns every single time; everything else all sounds the same to me (and not in a good way). BTW the other day my mother told me she and Henry have made all of the arrangements for their funerals. But did you plan the actual funerals? I wanted to know ... NOOOOO! She said. (?????) ... she was walking to her car at the time and she looked over her shoulder and said "Just be sure and sing Be Thou My Vision!"

We will do that. And at mine -- many years from now, please God -- my children know to sing Great Is Thy Faithfulness and The Old Rugged Cross.
