Flying High

We've always thought it would be nice to have a flag out front, but because we have a lot of trees in our yard, we just had a small one hanging on the house. When Andy was home, he and Bob figured out a spot where a flagpole would work.
A few weeks ago Bob started working on adding a small flower bed on the side of our entrance walk. He made it wider near the driveway so there would be room for the pole. Tonight the cement base was dry and ready for the flag.

Here are Bob and Heather, putting up the flag for the first time.

Here is the finished product. It needs a little landscaping yet and Bob is going to put in a light, but I think it looks great!

I love it Mari !! I wish I could fly a flag here but it's really not done ! Especially since I'd want to fly my American one !! ha ha. Probably wouldn't go down well ! But ... I always have one up in the house somewhere. At the old place it was on Jono's wall. Will have to figure out where to put it here ...

What a beautiful yard!!! The grass looks amazing. Is that a crabapple tree I see at the side of the house? It's so pretty.

Love the flag too!

What a beautiful sight! Thyda exclaimed over and over again how happy they were to be back on American soil. She said that even the American water smelled different (before they got to land!) Was that a good or a bad smell? Must have been good, because it made her happy!
