Veterans Day

Wednesday is Veterans Day in the United States.  It's a day when we honor our Veterans for their service to our country.  If you know a veteran, make sure you thank them!
Our son Andy, who is currently stationed in Colorado told us they will all be eating supper at Applebee's.  I don't know if the whole chain is doing this, but the one near them is feeding both veterans and active military for free on Veterans Day.   So, I'm appreciating Applebee's too!

I think it's great when places do things like that, especially for single soldiers. For us it is rarely beneficial since it usually only covers the actual military or retired person and not the family, so we end up paying for five other people. But in this economy I think it's great that places will even do it.

Pass on our thanks to Andy. I think of him and his upcoming deployment often. I'm still so glad he'll get to come home for Christmas!

There are several restaurants in our city that are feeding veterans all day for free too.

I thank your son, Andy. On this day...and all days he serves and when he's through with his military stint....it takes a lot of courage and bravery.

My outdoor Wednesday is posted now also, it's a trip around the marshland with some waterfowl photos and Autumn colors along the river...and a surprise visit from the loch ness monster? Maybe, maybe not...you hafta decide. LOL

Have a great Wednesday!!

I also read somewhere that some Golden Corral Restaurants are also feeding Veterans free on Novemember the 16th (but to call and make sure yours is a participating restaurant location.) My hat is off to the restaurants who know how to give honor where honor is due, and of course a salute and a hug to the selfless veterans that populate our beautiful country! Thank You!

That's wonderful about Applebee's! They apparently have some smart managers who have read the writing on the wall and realize that Americans are very enamored of their precious men and women in uniform. I'm tired of America-bashing. I do believe the current administration in Washington will find that attitude coming back to haunt them very soon.

And I will surely remember to suggest Applebee's the next time my darling wants to take me out to eat!

I heard about the Applebees thing -- I'm so glad they're doing that. Our soldiers are so underappreciated, and it's nice to see a big chain like Applebees doing something so good and worthwhile.

Mari,

Thank you for what you and your son continue to do for all of us each and every day in serving our country. As far as I know all Applebee's, Outback Steakhouse and Krispy Kreme donuts are doing stuff for our veterans today!

We definitely need more of this everyday!

Love and Hugs ~ Kat

Thank you and your son for helping keep this country safe from it's enemies. Please let your son know that he has a lot of prayers going out to him and you. God bless you both and all others that serve our country and our vets that gave use the freedoms we have.
