We had a crazy storm last week and to quote Winnie the Pooh, it was a "blustery day!" We had some rain, but not a lot and then the wind moved in. We were looking out our front window, watching little branches fall down. Thankfully, they were small. Some people, quite close to us were not so lucky. Here's a few photos from the next day.
These are branches from our yard - not huge, but still over 8 feet long!
This is my sisters house, right around the corner from us. They also had their grill blow right across the deck and a cabinet on the lower level blow over.
This is just down the street from our house.
Someone's mailbox is under that debris.
Another one that's around the corner from our house.
The same tree from another angle.
See the sign out front? It says "Don't stop praying". It was out there before the storm and is always true!
Bob picked up 5 wagons of debris from our yard and this is the pile he was making to chip it all up. We're thankful to have had just this little mess to deal with and just a short time without power.

Good heavens, that was a doozy! A little scary but I'm always up for a spot of dramatic weather. Power out, though, is a big buzzkill. Now as for us, we had mid-July weather at the beginning of April and are having mid-November weather here in the beginning of May. On Saturday it was rainy and the temperatures did not reach 60 degrees! Such an anomaly and I greatly enjoyed it. I'm so thankful that y'all had no serious damage and yes ... don't stop praying! xoxo 🏴☠️
Dear Mari, what an experience. Bless your heart. Don't stop praying is something we all need to remember.
I am very grateful it wasn't worse. Losing power is never good, either.
Wow!!! There were branches down here too, but nothing like what you had. Such lovely homes, Mari. Wishing you a beautiful day.
We also had storm, thunder and heavy rain this long weekend. No damage. Glad you did not have damages but sorry for your neighbours.
My goodness! I guess you did have a "blustery day, Winnie the Pooh!" So thankful that it wasn't too bad at your house, but so sorry for those who had so much more damage. That's a big mess for them to clean up. Hopefully no homes were damaged (or people!). We had a thunderstorm the other day, but it didn't last nearly long enough to give us much rain. There was a lot of hype that we were going to get severe storms and inches of rain, and I don't think we even got an inch of rain. But every bit helps. And we're thankful for no serious storms. Take care and have a blessed rest of your week! Hopefully it will be calmer!
Wow! A blustery day indeed! I'm so glad that you all didn't suffer more damage. And that sign in front of the house about don't stop praying...well, it just speaks to me.
I'm glad you had no damage other than tree limbs and branches. We've had our share of storms too. My brother had two tornadoes touch down at his house in 10 days. His shop had the back ripped off and a lot of tree damage but thankfully his house and everything else is fine. Very scary though. This is why I am not a big fan of Spring/Summer here.
I don’t remember if I wrote correctly we had hail ! Wishing you a good week
I am glad you didn't have a big clean up. We have been windy but not like you
Cathy
Oh wow, you sure had a storm come through. I just don't like when it gets so windy, we won't go into our woods when it's windy out, we just don't know what's going to come down and possibly hit us. So glad no houses were hit by the trees and branches.
Wow!! That was some storm! I'm so glad you didn't have more damage, and am glad your sister's house wasn't hit by those limbs. I sure hope no one had bad damage to their homes! Mailboxes are easy to replace! xo
You got hit pretty hard, Mari! So happy to know that no one was hurt and no limbs/trees hit someone's house. We're always afraid of that when we have a big storm here because we literally live in the woods.
That poor tree. You had a lot of cleanup to do. Nice your sister lives so close - I didn't know that.
Winds like that always makes me feel uneasy due to the trees in our yard. We had some wind - about 30 minutes of heavy gusts while we were grilling and then it stopped. Strange! Fall and Spring always brings these unsettled weather events while approaching Summer and Winter. Soon we'll all be baking from the Hot summer sun. 🌞
So scary! Geesh - you folks sure have been getting your share of crazy weather. I hope it all behaves now and you have a lovely spring/summer ahead! Thank goodness everyone was ok too.
Wow, so glad you are ok. What a mess and certainly a blustery day
Looks like we may have a bit of rain for the next few days. Then its on into hotter weather for us.
Thanks for all of your prayers and concern. Dave is slowly progressing. Bruises on the hip muscle and rib area take a long time to heal.

It is incredible how much damage a "blustery day" can do, and those photos of the downed trees really put the storm's power into perspective! I’m so glad you and Bob only had a "little mess" and a brief power outage compared to the neighbors.
Wow! That was quite a wind!
Oh my, this is so frightening!!! And did any power lines go down? They must have.
Wow that was a lot of trees that came down!!
Yikes! We had some wind this weekend, too, but nothing like that. Glad your power came back quickly! I hope the rest of this week (and month!!) is quiet!
When the wind blows a gas grill across the deck or patio, that tells me it's a strong gale. That would happen from time to time when I lived in Colorado and it always amazed me. You had quite a storm!!
Goodness! A blustery day indeed ... which could have been a lot worse. Pleased you were not too long without power.
All the best Jan
Glad you didn't have any serious damage. Weather can be so unpredictable.
Oh my, it definitely was a blustery day.
Crazy weather for sure. We had snow flurries on Sunday morning. Right now under a severe thunderstorm warning. Mother Nature is not herself this year. Hopefully no one was injured in your high winds. Janice
That was quite a storm, Mari!
So glad your home came through with only branches to deal with, though I can see it was still a lot of cleanup.
That “Don’t stop praying” sign feels like the perfect reminder in the middle of all that mess.
I hope things settle down quickly and that your neighbors recover smoothly.
That looks very serious Mari. The way Winnie the Pooh said it, made me feel like it was kind of cozy, but I don't think so after reading your post.
Wow! Trees are so wonderful but can be so scary in wind storms. Anthony and Lori had some cut down a few years ago that were near the house. I didn't know your sister lives right around the corner! That would be so fun if one of my sisters lived that close!
