We live about 20 minutes away from Lake Michigan which is always a favorite stop in the summer. It's also beautiful in the winter and I always try to stop there at least once during the winter season.
I was in Grand Haven and stopped for a short look last week. It was windy and oh, so cold!
Further down the beach, you can see the lighthouse.
The Grand Haven Lighthouse, a beautiful sight no matter the weather!

Hi Mari! Beautiful pictures - but oh my - it does look cold! Have a great week. See you again soon!
It was interesting to see people on the 'beach' in winter snow. Why do they put up snow fences?
Frozen waves ... that's just too much cold for me, my dear. I do like your winter pictures of Grand Haven every year, though! They make me feel snug and warm, hahahaha! Happy February! xoxo
Absolutely beautiful photos.
It is gorgeous! I have never seen a beach-type scene all in white from the snow!
Amazing white out sceneries!
So beautiful with the snow! Must be freezing!
Beautiful! All seasons have their beauty,
For Chatty Crone - Snow fences are put up in certain areas to prevent drifting snow. They always put them up at the beach to prevent the wind blowing the sand and causing it to drift over roads.
it is a stunning sight to see and one I am glad to see while sitting in Florida. these are gorgeous photos. there was a time in my life I would have walked that beach, now the old bones need heat.. I would love to take photos like yours.. beautiful post
So beautiful but I could actually feel the cold coming off these pictures! Love Grand Haven and we try to get there every year or so.
So beautiful! So, does the lake freeze all the way across, or just along the shores? I twould be apamzing to see frozen waves!! Love the pictures of the Lighthouse! So beautiful!!
Brrr! We live half hour, 45 minutes from Lake Ontario, it's incredible in the winter time. Your pictures are beautiful, I am inspired to go for a drive one of these days! But I'm not sure if I'll want to get out and walk!
That is a lovely spot but golly it looks cold. I didn't know waves would freeze like that. Wonderful photos. 😃
Truly gorgeous in every season! With Lake Superior I always think the same thing ...and also my thoughts always go to 'how cold must that water be???' Brrrr
I know this is a beautiful sight to see...I can't imagine frozen waves, that much snow, and such cold temps coming from off of the lake. I would love to visit here during the Winter, but this will mostly likely never happen. Absolutely gorgeous..
Great photos, Mari!! If the waves are frozen, you know it is COLD there!! I can't even imagine being out in weather that cold now. I lived a couple hundred yards from Lake Erie back in the 70s. I do know cold. Thankful to live in Florida now!! LOL
Oh these photos are gorgeous. I love lighthouses and the frozen waves are spectacular. I'm so glad you stopped and captured the sights for us.
Sue
This is incredibly beautiful, but I cannot imagine how cold it must be!
Wow such beautiful images. Though I love lighthouses the first picture is my favorite.
Now that's cold! Brave of you to go out in that kind of cold. Keep warm and have a great week.
Brrr it does look cold but your photographs are lovely to see.
All the best Jan
What beauty you have allowed us to behold, Mari. Thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures.
Awe, this post made me yearn for lake Michigan. I LOVE your photos. Many years ago, we took a trip around lake Michigan and visited lighthouses along the way, I can't recall if we had visited this one. Might have to make a stop the next time we head to our son's home over by Ann Arbor.
SO beautiful, but it looks very cold. You are a trooper to go out there!!
