I've always been amazed by the courage of ice fishermen! How do they know when that ice is going to start to crack? I've seen some ice shanties out on ponds/lakes in Maine before, and if they don't get them off the ice in time they may lose them into the water when it starts to thaw. I don't think I would be that brave. I've seen them drive their trucks out there...crazy!! But it makes for an interesting picture for sure!!
Living by the Wisconsin river you don't see too much ice fishing here, only on the back waters you may but definitely the small lakes and ponds. Nice capture.
Wow! Those are brave people....I can't imagine braving the cold to ice fish...but then I can't imagine braving the cold that my husband endures when he goes deer hunting either. :) I think I just like the comfy, cozy feel in a warm home more. xx
Ice fishing always makes me think of the movie "Grumpy Old Men" which I love and have seen at least a dozen times. Your photo looks as cold as it really was!! LOL xo
I am always fascinated by ice fishing. It sure looks too cold for me, but it must be a great adventure. I do believe my Dad did that on the Minnesota lakes in his youth. Sue
I never have ice fished. Used to fish from our Bass boat every weekend when living in Florida. I'll have to give ice fishing a try if I'm ever in that situation. Wonderful photo like always. Blessings. 💖

I enlarged it to get a better look. Wow, ice fishing. I have only seen it on T.V.
I’ve never seen ice fishing in person.
It must be fascinating to watch!
I am echoing Ginny's wow.. I have never seen a river iced, except in photos..

I only had ice fishing once when we stayed in Canada. I also enlarged the picture to see better. It must be freezing 🥶

We were just talking about ice fishing. I've never been, but have always wanted to go!
Right around the corner of our bay it looks just like this. Love the beauty of our northwoods areas. ;)

I think this would be so fun to experience. Just the way it is done intrigues me. Beautiful wordless Wednesday.
We have the same thing here on the lake at Deep Creek. I always think it looks so boring. I couldn't sit there!!!
Yes, it's a WOW from me too!
All the best Jan
They are snowmobiling now on our bay. Not for me. Janice
