We had a fairly warm beginning to winter with not much snow in December. But that has changed! And I know a lot of you have been dealing with cold and snow too. It's been cold in Florida and even snowing in Georgia!
Here in Michigan we've just had a very cold spell and some pretty snowy days.
Here's a few pictures to show you some views of our world in the last week.
The roads aren't always the best.

It's so beautiful! And you can really enjoy it to the max now that you don't have to travel in it!
Yes, when you can stay in and just look at the beautiful snow, it's the best! It's beautiful!
It is truly a complete white out beauty
Wow, winter really showed up! The snow looks beautiful, especially from inside. I’m with you—so grateful not to have to drive in that mess! Stay warm!
I know what you mean, when you're a child, you absolutely love the snow, then you grow up and have to drive to work in it, even when the roads are bad. After retirement you can slow down and enjoy the beauty all over again :) Great photos :)
Hi Mari, I wish it would snow where I live. We are getting more wind this week. We really need rain! Have a great week!
Yes, it's very pretty when you don't have to go out in it.
Take care :)
Very beautiful white days!
The snow is great!!
Yes, if you have a hobby, it's great to be retired!
Have a great week Mari!
Yes so pretty when you do not have to drive in it. Am looking forward to next year when I can do the same. Your pics are very pretty. The ice came down here now in the river and jammed up which has caused the ferries to stop now. The islanders will need to wait for the Coast Guard cutter to cut the ice now. Usually one stays docked in town once arriving here for ice duty. Janice
Brrrr! Pretty pictures but my that looks cold. Y'all be safe. Blessings. ☃️
You do have a beautiful view from your home, all those gorgeous trees! I do love trees. I like seeing yours but I don't want snow anywhere near me.. it is gorgeous and that big Christmas tree is stunning
The snow is pretty but really no fun to drive in. I am jealous of your "retired" status. ;-) Have a great week and stay warm!
Those photos when you look at them - looks like time has stood still. I guess that is why we get excited down here in GA - it was so peaceful to just have to stay in without the rat race going on.
BEAUTIFUL!
Your winter wonderland looks beautiful! And we finally have one here to match in northern WI! So grateful to finally get some of the white stuff - it's so needed. I hope it stays. :)
Yes, it is definitely pretty from the inside looking out.
I have to say I'm glad we don't have snow where we live...no one would know how to drive in it anyway...
I enjoyed looking at your photos of the "cold" though.
Sue
It sure is pretty, especially when you don't have to be driving in it.
Red barns (or whatever that building is) look especially good on a snowy white landscape. Like you, I'm glad I don't have to drive in snow...
Beautiful photography, Mari!
Your snow pictures are beautiful... especially the one from your slider where there's some red popping through. Our roads aren't always the best either. We did make it to church yesterday and that was a blessing.
It sure is pretty - looks like here. :)
Lovely photographs, it looks like warming soup weather to me :)
All the best Jan
Oooooo, that is a lot of snow. It is truly gorgeous as I love how it covers the trees and everything is glistening with white. We would be shut down for WEEKS here in Texas if it ever snowed that much. Texans do not know how to handle snow. haha. Enjoy..but stay warm!
Your photos are beautiful. I like the scenery in winter, but I feel like I have less tolerance for it as the years go by! The past two weeks have been enough for me. lol
Mari, I am so happy that you don't have to be out in that snow and cold!! As you said, it looks nice from inside looking out. It is pretty. Stay in, safe and warm!! xo
it is pretty! I don't mind the snow as much as I really don't like the cold! Isn't it nice not to have to go out in it if you don't want to?
SO beautiful!! And I'm glad you no longer need to drive to work each morning! We have snow, not as much as yours though. But it is SO cold!! I really have a lot of trouble staying warm even with layers on.
Nice you don’t have to drive on the snow now that you’re retired ! But snowy landscapes are always so beautiful…from inside!
I'm so thankful too that you are retired and have no reason to go out onto those slick roads. It is fun to have snow when there's power and noplace to go but the kitchen and back to your chair, hahaha! xoxo
