Hi friends! I'm back from my little Christmas break. Although I wasn't commenting I did try to read and keep up on your posts.
When I left you, we were on our way to our sons home in KY for an early Christmas celebration.
Our day of travel started with bad roads as we had a bad storm the night before. We saw lots of cars in ditches and medians but made it safely after an 8 hour drive.
Andy made us a wonderful breakfast the next morning and then we did a little gift exchange.
Laura had sent a few gifts along with us, and I thought this was so cute. Ruby made slime for Andy and Nikki and had put little add ins into it to personalize it for each of them.
They live about an hour from Nashville, so after that they took us there to see the Grand Ole Opry Hotel. It's beautiful at any time, but even more so when decorated for Christmas.
And all 4 of us in front of one of many trees.
We left there and walked around the Grand Ole Opry Mall which is huge!
Then it was time drive back. The next morning we went out for breakfast together before beginning the drive back home.
It was a lot of driving, but so nice to spend time with them and was worth the drive!

Hi Mari! I'm glad that you had a nice trip to Kentucky to visit your son's family. I am glad to see you back in blogland. Have a very good 2025! See you again soon!
We used to go from Ohio to Kentucky quite frequently, but only once in the winter. Your photos are wonderful. What beautiful decorations.
Sounds like a great trip, even with the tough drive!
The hotel looks amazing, and Ruby’s slime gifts are so sweet.
Hope you get some rest now! 😊
A river inside!! And the trees are gorgeous! I did not know there is a Grand Ole Opry Mall! Did you buy anything? I'm so glad you made the trip safely.
Looks like a wonderful time! I've never been to the Opry Hotel, but my mama went several years ago with a group of her friends and had a ball! She said it was amazing. Your pictures of it are so pretty! I know it was so good spending time with your son and Laura.
So glad you made it to Kentucky and so glad you are not driving anywhere near there right now as I believe they are getting walloped with that storm now...or where. Never been to the Grand Ole Opry, but my parents had during Thanksgiving and they said it was beautiful then. Loved seeing all of the trees and decor. Glad you were able to spend some time with your son. Oh what a gift of the slime. I gifted my son slime once. Biggest mistake ever. It was all over my carpet and I could not get it out. UGH. Anyways. glad you had a wonderful holiday and Happy New Year! Janice
Nice to see you back and nice pictures.
The hotel is beautiful. We also have very strange and bad weather today another storm and heavy rain and 12 degrees C .it is not safe on the roads. At the end of the week frost and snow it is not the usual weather!
That sounds delightful! It’s so thoughtful of Ruby to make personalized slime for Andy and Nikki. Adding those little personal touches makes gifts so much more special. And visiting the Grand Ole Opry Hotel must have been a magical experience, especially with all the Christmas decorations
Good morning Mari....What a wonderful way to celebrate, not only your kiddos, but the beauty of the season as well.. I have always wanted to go to Nashville during the Christmas season. Thankful you all had safe travels and that you were able to make some sweet memories.

Well, that post brought back memories for me. My husband and I stayed more than once at the Grand Ole Opry Hotel. Once at Christmas. It was beautiful. So glad you got to go.

About 10 years ago I went to the Grand Ole Opry for the show and stayed at that hotel. What a fantastic place. Such wonderful memories. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful trip. Such pretty pictures. The gift exchange looks like fun. I'm always up for a steak dinner! Yum! Y'all be safe traveling around on those icy roads. God bless. ✨
Glad that you had a wonderful, and safe, trip!
Sounds like a great trip to see family.
Welcome back home.
Nice to see you back safe and sound.
Lovely photographs from your trip.
My good wishes for 2025.
All the best Jan
What a wonderful trip and visit with your family. That looks like a great place to visit! Glad you are safely back at home now, in time for more snow!!
I'm glad you got to have such a good time with them! You're going to all kinds of places I've never been! The only time I went to Tennessee was in 1972 to visit my friend who was working at a children's home in the HILLS!! No GPS in those days. We weren't sure if we might get shot at when we had to turn around in someone's lane, lol!!
