Cooking Thursday

Last week I made a dessert that I've shared here before, and thought I should share it again, because it's so easy to make and is a perfect summer dessert.
This recipe uses ice cream sandwiches and even if you make it a half batch and put it in an 9x9 pan, it makes quite a bit because it's deep. You can cut the pieces smaller because of the depth, and the layers make a pretty presentation.

Ice Cream Sandwich Dessert

2 boxes ice cream sandwiches
12 ounces Cool Whip
2 bags Heath bits

Unwrap one box of ice cream sandwiched and place in a 9x13 pan.  You will have to cut a few in half so the whole pan is filled.  Spread half of the Cool Whip over the ice cream sandwiches, then sprinkle one bag of Heath bits over the Cool Whip.
Repeat layer and place in freezer for several hours or overnight.

Oh, that looks so good. I think that I just might have to give this one a try. Because of dentures I might trade the Heath bits for walnuts, but I think that would be yummy, too :)
Thanks for sharing.

Ahhhhhhh yessss! We just decided that other day that on Labor Day, when we celebrate Stephanie's birthday, I will be making one of these. It's a sure thing that there will be none left to tempt me after they have all gone home! xoxo
