I don't know if you have a Chipotle Restaurant near you. We do and one thing we really like is their Chicken Burrito Bowl. I have to say, I'm not sure why they call it a Burrito Bowl, because it doesn't have burrito type ingredients, but I do like it. They fix it in front of you, and the last time I was there I thought - I could make this myself! I bought some ingredients and set out to re-create this dish. It turned out really good; of course not exactly like the restaurant version, but we really liked it and I'll make it again.
Burrito Bowl
3 boneless, skinless chicken breast
1 envelope Chi-chi's restaurant seasoning
(found by the taco seasoning - onion, garlic and green chilies)
1/2 cup water
2 cups cooked rice
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
salsa
shredded mexican cheese
sour cream (optional)
Place chicken in crock-pot. Sprinkle seasoning over meat, then add water. Cook on high for 3 hours or until cooked through. Shred chicken.
Stir chicken into hot rice, then add black beans.
Serve with salsa, cheese and sour cream.

I am not familiar with that restaurant but this dish sure sounds good. I am always looking for ways to use the crock pot!
Looks delicious, we have a favorite Mexican restaurant so haven't tried Chipotles.
We love Chipotle but it is getting a bit pricier. I think my family would really like this a lot so I am going to try it. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
yum....that's what I order! If you want to make your rice taste like theirs, add some lime juice and fresh cilantro to it just before serving.
M-mm, that looks yummy. I've been eating Easter chicken leftovers all week, so maybe I will make this with some of the chicken that's left.
I've not heard of that restaurant. Your burrito bowl looks delicious.
yum - love that place. i'll give this recipe a try - it looks delicious!
We do have a Chipotle in Lakeland, and have been there once. It is just not on our radar. I'll have to suggest it again, and give the burrito bowl a try. I don't even remember what I had when we went there, right after they opened.
Your recipe sounds yummy! I always have chicken breast in the freezer, and black beans in the pantry. Yum!
Yum,no Chipotle here, prb. in Buffalo or Rochester, Thanks for sharing. Blessings
We don't...at least not to my knowledge.
Everything sounds absolutely delicious. I love Mexican food.
Looks good enough to try! We dont have that restaurant either, but would try it at home for sure.
It looks delicious, Mari! Thanks for sharing. We do have Chipotle here and I like it, but I've only been there twice. I just had my second visit about three weeks ago. It's so filling! I have to block off a whole day of light eating to go there. :)
We just got a Chipotles here and we will have to try it. Thanks for the info.
Hi Mari! We do have a Chipotle around, several in the area. I do like Mexican, by the way :)
This recipe looks pretty painless, and looks divine. What a crowd-pleasing meal! Thanks for sharing it today. Good for you, make it yourself and save some money. Love that!
Ceil
yum!!!
This looks good. I think I will save the recipe and try it sometime. Thanks so much for posting.
Yummy! I'll definitely try it. We like to go to Baja Burrito when we go to Nashville. It's a fun place and they make it right in front of you there too. An artsy place downtown. Love it!
I'm a fan of the chicken burrito bowls at Chipotle (and Qdoba when I lived in Kalamazoo, MI), but they are too expensive, and I like the idea of controlling things like the amount of salt and preservatives that is in the food I feed my family. Your adaptation looks great, and so flavorful. I am always looking for new favorites to increase the variety of the meals I make, thank you for sharing this, Mari!
