A Day in my Life - March

I'm happy to see March arrive. We're getting closer to nice weather, the days are longer and the sun is showing itself a little more frequently.  We got 3 inches of snow last night, so we're not done yet, but I see the end in sight!

Here's how the first day of the month went for me.

I started the morning downstairs on the treadmill.  You can see that the table down there is filled with things.  Bob and I did some cleaning of our storage area the day before and filled the table with things to go to the charity shop this week.

Here's the view out of our front door when I came back upstairs.  It was only 11 degrees, but look at that sunshine!

By 8:40 we were on our way to church. The roads were pretty icy, but we enjoyed the blue sky.

Along the way, we saw another sign of Spring. The maple trees have been tapped. Because it was so cold, the sap was frozen in the bags.

We have Sunday School before the church service. The class I'm in is Answers in Genesis and we're really enjoying it.

Here's people chatting in the Narthex between Sunday School and church.  Our Pastor was sick today, so we had a message from a retired Pastor who is a member of our church. The message was on the trials we all have at times and how God works through them.

We were home about 12:15 and had chili for lunch which was waiting for us in the crock pot.

The sunshine lured us outside for a walk after lunch. The temperature had made it up to 29 and the new snow was melting!

The woods aren't ready for us to walk in yet, but I see some critters have been using the path.

We stopped to say hi to the horses and then went back home.

It was a quiet afternoon with a short nap and some reading!

Here's the view out the front before we had supper.  The snow is melting fast.

After supper we enjoyed some of our favorite shows. This one is The Beau Chateau, about the renovation of an old chateau in France. We also watched a British Crime show (Grantchester)  and The Repair Shop.

Another blessed day, and anticipating the month ahead.
Happy March!

Dear Mari, your photos are beautiful. I ❤️ love horses, how nice to see as well. It's great you gathered some items for the charity shop. 😀

Hi Mari! Looks like you had a great March 1! We are also studying Genesis in our Sunday School class at church right now. Charly and I are getting rid of lots of things we don't need any more and took some things to donate to our favorite thrift store Friday night. Glad you had some sunny weather today. We had a gray and cloudy weekend, but it was really warm for this time of year. Won't be long and we'll all be complaining about how hot it is! I hope you have a good week.

Your chili looks delicious. Love that big horse! Now that's something we don't see here in California - maple tree orchards. I'll trade you a almond tree for one of your maple trees? My husband would love fresh maple syrup.

Mari, I enjoyed reading about your first day.
Seeing the maple trees tapped is such a hopeful sign that spring is on the way. Chili in the crock pot and a walk in the fresh air sound like a perfect Sunday. Wishing you a wonderful month ahead!

Hi, Mari!
I think that if we lived near by, I would take the boat you have on the table, if it was going to the charity shop! :D
I love boats and everything maritime!
Around here we are finally having some sunny days, but today it seems it will rain, so... Waiting for Spring...
That chili looks delicious and it made me hungry!
Have a blessed week!
:)

I love seeing the beautiful fresh snow pictures...and then seeing it melt is nice too! I'm sure you are ready for some springtime! When you get to Florida you won't know what to think, but you'll enjoy it I am certain!! Especially with Terri as your hostess! Can't wait to see you! Your chili looks good enough to eat for sure! I may have to make some this week, although I am hoping it is warming up here more and maybe it's time for some springtime meals. (whatever that is?! LOL). Looks like you attend a large church! Wow! Our little church could fit in your narthex! LOL.
Have a lovely week, and enjoy the snow while it lasts...and that beautiful horse too!!

Looks like you had a fun filled day with lots of things that you did. Seeing the horse reminded me of my paternal grandfathers draft horses. I am glad March is here...hopefully Spring will come soon now. Janice

Thank you for blessing us with these lovely pictures. I enjoyed seeing the shadows of the trees on the snow..I know the sunshine brought big smiles to your faces. Looks like the perfect kind of day including that delicious looking bowl of chili. Sunday's are usually fairly slow around here..

Hi Mari!
We watch the same programmes on tv!
You still have so much snow. Here while I was away they had heavy rain during 40 days floods in some places. My week starts by the hairdresser to relax a little.
My treadmill broke down I will have to get a new one.

Your photos are gorgeous. Sorry for the snow. I would love to find a church like yours down here. Where they have Sunday School and teach. I have a friend who taps the trees and makes her own maple syrup. It is a big job. Hey, do me a favor. Your chili looks so good - would you send me the recipe or put it on your recipe post? THANKS

Love your walk in the snow and the draft horse is gorgeous. I love the "winter" long shadows but I know you are eagerly awaiting Spring.
I would love to see maple trees being tapped like that.
Umm yumm on maple syrup and chili in the crock pot. Now I really would enjoy both.
Enjoy your week and I love the looks of your church. We used to attend churches that had Sunday School, always liked that.

OK well, too cold for me; I probably would not have even gone to church, hahaaha, and for sure I would not have gone on a walk OUTSIDE, hahaaha! But I'm glad you did both, and I for sure would have joined you for that chili! Looks wonderful! Forward March!!! xoxo 🏴‍☠️

We walked yesterday, too, because it was "so warm"...hahaha...isn't it funny how 29 can feel balmy after so many truly frigid days? I can't wait until it hits 50!! Happy March!

Hi friend! If the roads look like that in Eastern NC nobody leaves the house lol. We are originally from the mountains though, so at least my husband still knows how to drive in the snow. I haven't done it in so long, I'm not about to try :)
We LOVE Answers in Genesis! I'm the VBS director at church and I've used it for many years now. I am a big fan of Ken Hamm and his ministry! We love his homeschool material as well!
I love this beautiful slow Sunday! That is a beautiful horse! I enjoyed visiting your beautiful blog today!

Hello, my friend! These are some of my favorite posts you do! I love hanging out with you during your day. Your yard is beautiful in the snow, and I am glad you were able to get out for a walk, and even more so that you got a nap! Have a cozy afternoon, and Happy March!

Your photos are always so beautiful, and I must have asked you this before, but do you use a camera or a cell phone?
I live in a town filled with Maple trees, and in fact my street is called Maple Avenue because both sides of it are lined with Maple trees, and yet I've never ever seen one being tapped. Your shot of the trees being tapped made me wonder why that is.
