I've posted before about the photo books I make every year and some of you have asked to see them.
I've tried different companies for this over the years and have decided that Mixbook is the best of all I've tried. It's easy to work with, has so many options for backgrounds, stickers, fonts and layouts. (I'm not getting paid to say this, I just think they are the best.)
When my kids were younger, I did scrapbooks for them. I like this better because you don't have to go to the store and get supplies, store everything and haul it out to work on. It's all on your computer!
Anyway, I do one of these every year for each of our grandkids, and I do it from one birthday to the next. I also do one for Bob and I, with all the fun and events of the year.
Here's what they look like:
This page has Alaina and Ruby doing a craft and a visit from Terri of Your Friend from Florida.
It's so nice to have all these photos in books with dates and documentation.
Right now I'm working on another book that I'm really having fun with. It's a family history book with photos of both my Dad and Moms families, letters my Dad wrote to my mom when he was in the army and history of the farm I grew up on. I'm looking forward to getting it done and sharing it with my siblings.

This post is just for me! I have used Shutterfly for years to make my family's books. They have changed the format a few times and I just made some books over the weekend. I am ready to try something new. I really like your Mixbooks. I will be looking into this.
Holy cute pictures, Batman. These are some very, very cool books. LOVE this idea. What a pretty and fun gift.
This is wonderful!!!! They are so nice and done so well, full of memories.
I love them. I do photo books too. I have tried a few too. I have not heard of that company. I have been using Amazon photos as of late. I like it okay. I have done several companies though. I use to scrapbook as well but I do find this is the best way. Now, that our kids are young adults I just do a family book each year. But I am sure when I have grandbabies I will do as you.
Your books look beautiful.
Those books are amazing!!! Lots of memories to treasure. I need to digitize some photos. Maybe I will make some books for Christmas!
Hi Mari! These are really awesome! I have been doing more photobooks since the company I was using to print my blog went out of business. Every Christmas, I give a photobook to my daughter's family with pictures of fun things we did with them throughout the year. Wow, the family history project with your dad's letters sounds great - and will be a wonderful blessing to your entire family! Preserving memories is something of real worth to our children and grandchildren! I am going to try that company you recommended next time I do some photobooks! Thanks for sharing these ideas!
What a beautiful treasure of memories.
They look absolutely lovely and I really like that you can also put text in there.
your children and grandchildren will treasure these memories all their lives. I wish I had something like this for my sons.. these are amazing... I made 3 way back when I first started with photography, with Shutterfly, that was years ago
The books are all really nice. What a treasure for everyone to have. I love the pirate on the page of you and Jenny. She's such a wonderful person.
This is so much easier than scrapbooking the photos. I've made a couple. Thank you for sharing the company. I may check them out.
What a wonderful idea to document yearly. Will need to look into this. Janice
There's a lot of love in those pages and books that you have created. I love the family history one you are working on. What a treasure that will be for your siblings..and your children to have family history written out for them.
I just love that you do this for the kids each year, and one for yourself!! And I'm in your 2025 book!! Wow!! Mari, I had such a wonderful visit with you and Bob and was so happy to meet Alaina, Ruby, Cassie, and Connor (and their parents)!! A great way to treasure the memories of each year. See you soon!!
I love these.
Wonderful books! I've done similar things myself, but now it's been a long time since I haven't. Good that you gave me inspiration!
They're all fabulous! Every time you share your books I tell myself I need to make a few...then I forget. So glad you shared again. Thanks for the reminder!
Oh Mari! This is incredible! I started making my own scrapbooks from paper back in the 90s. I have possibly made hundreds of scrapbooks since then, giving away to family and friends. I went digital in 2010, but have always used Shutterfly or Snapfish. I would be interested in trying Mixbooks. I always wait for the large discounts I get through either of the 2, but wonder how in price/quality Mixbooks compares? I am impressed with doing books for the grandkids each year - that is such a fabulous idea, I Love it! Thanks for sharing the beautiful work you do!
I used to do that every year too, but the company I used went out of business and then Life got in the way. I need to check out your company again. its been a few years since i last looked into it.
I love your placement of the photos and documentation.
Photos on our phones are fine but I think we all need hard copies for the family history and just pure memories.
You have gotten me in the mood again.
Thanks.
Sue
I received one from my son for Christmas about Maxime and William and it is really very nice I think I’ll try to make one about my children.
Oh, I love these. I did one for Benton and Rose's wedding, and also one called my 'Pastbook' that I found through Facebook, which took my pictures from my facebook posts. I've been wanting to do one of my blogs...I know someone out there does those, but I'm afraid they'd be too expensive. If you or anyone knows a good way to do them, I'd appreciate hearing about it.
What a wonderful, wonderful grandmother you are for doing this. I am sure the kids are just going to love them and they will have memories forever.
Oh you know I could not love this more my dear Friend! I do a mixture of print books and scrapbooking books. You do such a gorgeous job on these Mari. I know it is a true labor of love. And they will be treasured by your family forever! I bet they all look so forward to receiving them each year. 💗
These look great! I made one a few years ago of family photos, from a different site. Going to check out your recommendation.
These books look brilliant ... well done for doing them
All the best Jan
I'm sure they treasure their books.
These books are amazing!!! I'm afraid my kids and grandkids will just have to read my blog from the last twenty years to see what all they've done, hahaha!
Your books look wonderful, Mari!
Such a special way to keep memories together.
I really like the idea of doing one each year.
The family history project sounds amazing too, what a gift for your siblings!
Those are great gifts!
These are really nice.
It would be impossible to overstate the incredibleness factor of these books. Your work is STELLAR and you SHOULD be paid by Mixbook!!!! And how honored I am to be featured in Ruby and Alaina's book for last year! That was such a special visit. You inspire me, my friend! xoxo 🏴☠️
