Alaina and Ruby spent the night this past weekend. It had been a while because we've had such busy weekends lately, so we were happy to have them.
We went out for supper and then played a rousing game of Wahoo. I came in last. :)
Bob was showing the girls how to use stilts.
They decided they liked this version of stilts better.
They put this chair together on their own, with Bob giving instructions. They were pretty proud of it.
They made cute little turtles and we all had fun!

Hi Mari, I can see why the girls preferred different stilts. Looks like you all had a great time together ❤️ So nice that the girls helped out with the table and chairs. I love the turtles 🐢 the girls made, and they have such beautiful smiles.
How fun! They sure are growing up. You and Bob have such an awesome relationship with them.
I want to come and stay at your house! What fun!
My kid used to make stilts - both kinds. I think we need to make some with the grandkids, too. They did a great job with the chair.
The girls get prettier each time I see them. The turtles are adorable. I had been going to ask if you were getting new furniture for the deck.
Those turtles are so cute! I used to do crafts when the grand were younger. Now they are not interested. I have one granddaughter that is crafty like me. She is more into drawing and painting and singing. The girls look so happy they could help put the patio furniture away.
It looks like you had a lovely time together. You have a beautiful family.
Nice to see the girls. The new furniture will be very nice on the new patio this Summer I love the chairs. The turtles are so cute it’s such a good idea.
Walking on stilts look like real fun
the turtles are so cute as are the girls. They are making precious memories for the future and also learning skills women need to know, like putting together furniture. I have always left that to the men and in the past couple of months had to figure out how to read the instructions and put together a wheel chair, a walker and a frame for the potty. also had to learn to use a drill like they are doing to help with the poop filter. they look so happy and I know all four of you had tons of fun
I would never be able to walk on either stilts, but the girls ones were a bit safer. Cute turtles and great job on the putting the chair together. Janice
Wonderful memories. So beautiful
What a fun way to spend time with your girlies. The Wahoo game looks very similar to a board game we played with our kids when they were young...Aggravation was its name. I have to say that I like the girls' version of stilts better than Bob's...not as far for me to fall. haha. Love it that the girls put that chair together all by themselves under Bob's instructions. And those crafts are ADORABLE!
Oh Mari, these pictures literally brought tears to my eyes. Your grandaughters are absolutely positively precious! We're close to ours too & when they come for a long weekend, short weekend, or just overnight, I am truly in my happy place. They're 16 & 14 years old so I know our time together, at least like that, is coming to a close...but for now I relish every single moment. Thank you for sharing these breathtaking pictures. ~Andrea xoxo
Everyone always has a good time at the grandparent's house!! Those turtles are adorable!! And putting the chair together is a great accomplishment!! Those skills will come in handy over and over!! xo
You always have such fun with your grandkids! The turtles are too cute!
Oh what fun! You are so blessed to have these sweet girls living close enough to do these fun things together! It looks like there was all kinds of fun stuff going on! I LOVE the turtles they made! You come up with the cutest little craft ideas! So much fun. I wish I could come stay and be your granddaughter! LOL.
This post brought back so many good memories of my Dad doing things like that for our 2 sons. We played "Oh No" looks just like Wahoo and Parchessi. Lots of fun and I certainly came in last too many times.
My Dad made stilts just like those for our oldest son Steve. I have to hunt up the photo of receiving them for his birthday. Daddy made me a pair when I was young too. The neighborhood used to play pretend circus with them. The kids had the other kind that your girls have too. Bought from the store. Lots of memories.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Love your girls and their creative skills.
Sue
Your girls always seem to have a really good time when they visit you. The relationship you have with them is beautiful. May it continue to flourish.
More fun times with the girls.
I remember stilts!! :)
You definitely all had a fun time.
I do like those little turtles ... so cute :)
All the best Jan
The girls are really growing up and turning into good helpers!
Always so much fun to be had at Grandma and Grandpa's. :) I remember using my neighbor friend's stilts like those as a kid and loved walking around in them. The turtles turned out SO cute! 💚
Oh my goodness! Those turtles are amazing! And look at the girls being handy with the tools! Great skills for them to learn!
Those turtles are adorable...and I love that they are learning to use the tools! DIY girls...awesome!!
That last picture!! They are so cute! I love all the things you did together. We're finally having Sammy and Bianca here for a few days next week. These kids grow older and busier and it's hard to find time that suits everybody.
Always a fun time when the girls come over. What wonderful memories they will have.
Awwwww the girlies! Now, I would have come in last behind you in Wahoo, whatever that is. And if I'd tried either type of stilts, I would have ended up with missing Pirate teeth or a broken Pirate arm or some such disaster. My turtle (Tortuga!) would not have looked anything like theirs. But what fun! Hahahaha xoxo
