Happy Birthday Ruby!

Monday is our Ruby's birthday!  She is going to be 4 years old. Life with Ruby is never boring.  We never know what she's going to do or say.
Here's a few funny things just from a couple of weeks ago.
We had the girls overnight last weekend.  After we got them tucked into bed, I was putting things away and getting some things ready for the next day when Ruby called me. I asked what she wanted and she said "Grandma, don't go roaming around at bedtime".
During the night (3am!), she showed up by the bed wanting to crawl in.  I told her she should try to sleep in her bed for a little longer. 5 minutes later, she was back. She crawled over top of me so she could be in the middle of the bed.  She got settled in and all was quiet.   Then -
"Grandma, did you ever wonder what it would be like if the world was sideways?"
"No, I haven't ever thought about that!  We should go back to sleep now"
A few minutes later -
"Grandma?  What if even the floor was sideways?"
"That would be funny!"
Then there was quiet for a while.
At 7am, suddenly the lights were turned on (by Ruby!):
"Grandma, get up!  It's light out!"
It really wasn't, but it was light in the bedroom so we got up.
And that's just one night in the life of Ruby.
Life would certainly be much less exciting without her.  We sure do love her!

Oh my I think we are keeping company with the same four-year-old. Dagny behaves similarly! Lots of suggestions and lots of questions. But please no getting me up at seven o'clock in the morning. That won't fly. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, dear Ruby! xoxo

That is the cutest, sweetest story!! And that face says it all!

I forgot that she and Bainca are the same age. She's our little Miss Sass, but can be the sweetest little thing - when she decides to be!

Oh I love to hear Ruby Stories!! And be sure and tell her Happy Birthday from one of her biggest fans. Now I am thinking about what the world would be like if it was sideways.

What a sweet face! Happy Birthday Ruby! Isn't it hard to not laugh at the things they ask! She didn't get much sleep that night, did she. Well, neither did you. That is so funny.

"Kids say the darndest things." How in this world does she come up with all those questions? She is so smart! I think she is a very special little girl. Hope she had a very special birthday.

She had a fun birthday! Aaron and I say all the time that we need a constant recording of her to be able to remember all the stuff that comes out of that little brain!
