I have to start with a few photos from Friday though. I was driving to work when a deer ran across the road in front of me. I slowed way down, because if there is one, there are usually more coming. It was true in the case too.
It was a mama dear and this fawn wasn't far behind her. I stopped on the road because the fawn was apparently scared by my car and kept running onto and then back from the road. Thankfully it was a country road and no other cars were around.
After a few minutes it crossed over and ran off with it's mother.
I took this picture when I got to work, to show you the progress on the addition to our building. It's been fun watching it go up and also quite amazing to see how fast some of it happens.
Bob and I went out for supper Friday evening, then picked up Alaina and Ruby for an overnight visit. Before coming back to our house, we got groceries, which was a fun time with 2 kids on a busy Friday evening. :)
When we got home, Bob went to put something away in our bedroom and I started to put groceries away. When I started hearing squeals and laughter I had to see what was happening, and this is what I found. Alaina said they were "playing on Grandpa". He's just a big toy for them!
Saturday was a beautiful day for playing outside!
We brought them home shortly before supper, and came home to a house that seemed very quiet.
Sunday was a calm day. We had a wonderful church service, and then a relaxing day.
Monday it's back to work for me. Hope each of you had a nice weekend too!

So glad you finally got a weekend off, Mari. Those two granddaughter's of yours are so very precious. Yep, I'd have to agree that Grandpa is a big kid, and how fun for them. I've always wished we would have had one, but it wasn't to be.
Good for you being so careful about the mama and baby fawn. You're really such a sweet and kind lady. :)

I'm sure being off work felt wonderful and the weekend went by very quickly!
Those girls are just adorable. So much fun!
Playing with Grandpa....that just cracked me up. Those two girls just KNOW how loved they are!!!
And the last two photos...well, once again, those pics just melt my heart!!
Don't work too hard now, y'hear? And not to forget the deer....pretty.
There are probably more restful ways to spend your first weekend off in four weeks but I can't imagine one that would fill your soul any fuller than spending it with those two precious girls. Love that photo of them on the bench. They are growing up fast!
Awwwww.....I enjoyed the whole post Mari...what lovely photos and the girls are just getting so big, smiles. Have a beautiful week, friend.
So glad you had a weekend off Mari and I am sure those girlies had a blast.
Oh, that last picture is just too precious! I am so glad you were able to enjoy a day or two off and it looks like that time was simply wonderful :)
Happy Monday. Hugs!
Nice to finally have a weekend off, and get to enjoy those two precious little girls. Hope Monday is an easy day back at work.
Hello, What... I thought all Grandpas were play toys!! LOL
I really enjoyed reading your last few posts! Enjoy your days and the family and all that summer brings!
Blessings, Roxy
I always enjoy seeing pictures of your grandkids, they are just the cutest little girls. How nice for them that they have a fun, young-at-heart grandpa!
Catching up on all of your fun posts Mari!
I love seeing your area and your beautiful family. Not to mention your "funnies" and your wonderful recipes. All of your posts always bring a smile to my face. :)
May this week bring you blessings and lots of joy.
God bless Sweetie.

You really deserve a break and so glad you had the weekend off. Deer are so sweet but can be very dangerous when they are on the road. We can tell that Grandpa loves his granddaughters and they love him. He is a big teddy bear. The picture of Alaina and Ruby is so cute! What a great weekend you had!
I love, love, love the pictures of the girls at your house!!!!
We see deer often around here, even right outside Lori's kitchen window earlier this summer!
Such precious times. xoxo
Aww! What a cute little fawn!
I can't wait to see how the building looks when it's finished!
Yes, that pic sums up the two of them for sure! Alaina's hand on her head, I'm sure she was saying, "Ruby! Just sit nice!"
