I came across this crazy scene outside my town. The field in front of this house has all these poles (which are almost as tall as telephone poles) lined up in a regular pattern across the whole field. As you can see, there are lines of some sort running across the top of them. What in the world is the purpose of this?
I found out that they are growing hops here, to use in making beer.
I feel sorry for the people who built that house, thinking they had a nice farm field next to their house, only to find this being put in. What a view!

I would definitely not want that view.
I have never seen or heard of this before. Ugh....what a view!
How strange! I've never seen anything like that before. I wonder why hops needs poles!
Oh man, that would be awful.
Feel badly for the homeowner.
Their property value took a BIG hit.
How sad.
I wouldnt want that view either. I have never seen anything like that before. Happy Friday.
Hmm..I feel bad for those people, I wouldn't want that view either. Blessings
Well...it is definitely a DIFFERENT view from most, haha!
I don't think hops smell very good. Poor people!
Be sure to take more pictures as the hops grow up these poles and across the lines. I am assuming that is what they do. These poor people will be more enclosed than ever. And I was just complaining this morning that I didn't want to look out my patio window to see the grill sitting there. At least we can move the grill. :)
Hi Mari! It looks like some kind of power plant, doesn't it? I don't know anything about hops, had no idea they'd need such a an intricate system of poles.
I feel sorry for their neighbors too!
Blessings,
Ceil
Wow, I've never seen anything like it before. I would definitely be disappointed to end up with a view of this. :(
Oh my goodness!!!!!! UGLY!!!!!
Oh how I hate it when a view is destroyed. The stories I could tell. xoxo
I've seen hops fields galore in Idaho long ago, and they are TALL!!! Too bad the view is gonna be nil for the residents in that house tho.
Wow! What a bummer for the home owners. Maybe the farmer can appease them with free beer! ;>)
There are many hops fields in our area. Mostly out in the country though, so no views destroyed.
