A man, a rake, a beach...

Meet Andre Amador.
He's an artist and his medium is a sandy beach.
His artwork is intricate, but can exceed 100,000 square feet.
He uses a rake to create art that will disappear when the tide comes in.

Here he is, working on a beach in California.

He uses a rope as a guide to lay out these geometric patterns.

He rakes up sand at low tide, to create contrasting sand colors.

Sometimes he helps people propose.

He says it usually takes a few hours to create his sand paintings.

Once the tide comes back in, they are gone forever.

That is really amazing, isn't it? Beautiful and really a talent to be able to envision that and then create it. I wonder if he's responsible for crop circles, too! haha.

He is a gifted and original artist, and how touching that his art lasts but a few hours, til the sea covers it.

Wow! That is amazing. I live near the beach... maybe I should try to create some sand art? I doubt I could create anything as beautiful as this!

Wow....I'm now thinking just how this artwork would look from a plane/helicopter...simply stunning.

That is amazing. I would love to see them in person. He sure has lots of talent, and it is sad they go away.

How beautiful!!! I'm not sure I would be able to do all that work just to watch it fade away.

Hi Mari! I have never heard of this artist, but I love what he is doing here! I wonder why he creates something that won't last...I'm sure he must have his reasons.

I'm going to have my husband take a look at your post later. He's going to love this :0

Truly awe-inspiring. I can't figure out how he gets them so perfect. I only know I would have neither hte patience nor the stamina. xoxo
