By the time I started working in the nursing home, which has now been over 20 years, everyone was wearing Nurse scrubs. They are comfortable, wash well, don't stain and are reasonably priced. Scrubs have continued to be improved as time has passed. They are now available in many colors, patterns and styles.
One of my favorite brands of scrubs are Cherokee Scrubs. They contacted me recently to review a new type of scrub, the Cherokee Flexible Scrub.
This is the scrub top I received, except it's navy blue. This top features side panels that are made of a stretchy material, which gives a nice freedom of movement. I've found Cherokee uniforms to run true to size and this one is no exception. The color stayed bright after washing and there has been no shrinkage. It's a top I really like. The only thing that I don't like about it are the pockets. There are little tabs that come over the pockets and fasten with buttons. I use my pockets for a pen, keys for the med cart, a highlighter... , all things I use frequently, so buttoning the pockets isn't very convenient. That wouldn't stop me from ordering this scrub though.

Nice review of the scrubs. Could you cut off the tabs to make the pockets more convenient for you?
I really like the look of that scrub. I like how it nips in at the waist to flatter the figure. The stretchy at the sides sound good too for ease of movement. I am wondering how the feel is when you get hot, does it seem to hold in the heat and cause any sweating? I bet they can reinvent the pocket flap with enough input from the people they have trying them out such as yourself. One more question are they made in Canada.

Cheri - the scrubs seem very breathable. I don't feel hot in it at all. I really don't know where they are made. If you are asking if you can get them in Canada - yes you can, through the website I linked in the post.
When I graduated and went to work at the hospital, we wore white uniforms and our caps. My director finally let us remove the caps, but we still had to wear white. She said we earned the privilege of being a nurse and she wanted us to stand out from other departments. I confess, I liked it. I worked in a speciality unit and others in the hospitals went to colors and scrubs. When someone saw a nurse in white, they knew where we worked. I wore white until I retired. lol
The scrub top looks comfy! I envy those who can wear a uniform - especially a comfortable one - to work. It would save time picking something out to wear each day! LOL
I would love the stretchy fabric. I know they are eager to make changes after receiving feedback from you and others. That's a smart company to get input from the very folks who buy their products!
Although it's more practical to wear scrubs, unless you know the color assigned to each wearing them you can't tell the nurse from the people bringing the food to the patients!
My nurse daughters no longer wear scrubs. Amy retired and Sara is more in management. However...a new generation in our family is now going into nursing so this is good info!

I've never worn scrubs but that looks very cute. And I love pockets and I wouldn't like a button over mine either. I remember when nurses wore the white caps. I thought it was so pretty and interesting. Those you nurse are very fortunate to have you looking after them, Mari. xoxo
