Sad news

I just got some sad news and I wanted to share it with you because I've talked about this lady several times here.
Do you remember me posting about the sweet little lady that spent lots of time sitting by me at the nurses station? She's the one who named me Coco and I talked about her here.
I just got word that she passed away this evening. Her health has been declining lately, but this was still quite sudden. She was someone who was loved by all and along with her family, there are a lot of sad employees at the nursing home.
We do get attached to our residents and it's often pretty hard on us to lose them.

Such sad news Mari. I know just how you feel. Being a dialysis nurse, we see a dozen or so patients pass away each year. It's always heartbreaking.

I remember you speaking of her, and this news is very sad. I know you were a blessing in her life, and I'm sure she will remain a memory in your heart.

It's one of the joys of working in a long-term care centre that we get to know and enjoy so many people in their last few months and years of life - but that's also one of the sad things about our jobs. While for them we rejoice at their homegoing and release from a life of pain, we still miss them terribly. Hugs!!

I followed the link and then the link there to learn about this sweet, precious lady. What a joy.

We have a woman that we pick up for church every Sunday, (we serve her a meal every Tuesday through our King's Kitchen). She will be 87 on the 27th and is as sharp as a tack but has difficulty walking. Last Sunday in church she raised her hand for salvation. Talk about being blessed. To know this sweet woman will go to heaven.

so sorry to hear of her passing, Mari. She sounded like a sweet lady. When you work with the elderly you know what the inevitable end will be but it's still hard when one of them passes.

I'm sorry, Mari. Two sweet ladies come to mind who touched my life in much the same way. It's a testament to your loving care that you and your co-workers will miss her so much. I'll be thinking of you all and her family.

Sorry for your loss. I'm sure you and the rest of the nurses made the last days of her life enjoyable. She was fortunate to have people who loved and cared for her.

Mari,

SO sorry to hear that a wonderful lady has left this earthly world. It's always more difficult on those of us left behind to deal with. I am sure that the memories she left have created a lasting impression of love on the hearts of all who knew her and will miss her. May God give you comfort during this time and the peace that passes all understanding.

Love and Hugs ~ Kat
