This Spring, Bob decided he wanted to add another flower bed to our back yard. He did a lot of planning for the shape and location, then planned for the flowers to go into it.
In early July, he dug out the area, amended the soil and finally the fun part came - buying and planting the flowers. We had a wonderful surprise when we went to the nearby greenhouses - there was a huge selection of perennials on sale for $1.49 a piece.
We bought quite a few, and got them planted.
It's been several weeks, and they are doing great!

Truly beautiful, he did a great job!!!
I love it. We could use him over here for our front yard landscaping :)
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!
I could spend hours outside in that garden reading or simply enjoying its beauty. Nice job, Bob!
Looks very nice. He's a keeper.
Wow - this looks so peaceful and relaxing! What a beautifully landscaped piece of art! Love those ornamental grasses! When I still had a garden, perennials were my favorites. They multiplied so well that I could divide and give away many times rather than let them overgrow. Some of my perennials' offspring I donated to the courtyard where I work. It's fun to see its grands still enhancing the garden! Your garden is a lot of work and it looks like it is done with a lot of love!
Your back yard is beautiful! What a wonderful place to hang out!
You better hang on to your guy, Mari, he does really good work! That is lovely. Your entire yard is beautiful!
Yours is a back yard to die for. I'd love to have that much space, but we probably wouldn't have the energy to take care of it. Thank goodness for Bob!
Consider yourself lucky! My sweet hubby does a lot of things, but working in the yard is NOT one of those things. sigh. Your yard is gorgeous...Bob did a great job.
Hugs,
Kat
Oooo, I love it, Mari! I'm wishing that maybe you and Bob could head out to Oregon to do a bit of landscape design! It looks so gorgeous!
Very nice Bob - do you rent him out - send him over my way :)
How beautiful! Bob has so many talents!
I would love to have that much room, but then I would need Bob to keep it looking so beautiful, and I don't he's for hire!
I bet your yard is as pretty in the winter as summer!
i like you're set up - that's the way jay and i handle it. he does the yard work, i sit on the front porch swing and enjoy :)
TG works hard in the yard but as he's not the least bit artistic, it tends to look rather bland. I don't like to work in the hot sun and get all sweaty so that's my excuse. Our grass gets cut and the jungle-like foliage we enjoy in South Carolina gets cut back, but that's about it. If I want lawn beauty I have to look over at my neighbor's yard ... even their grass is better than ours. Oh well. Good for Bob being so creative in the yard. So nice for the family and your neighbors ... and you!!!
Lovely!
That's how it works at our house too, Ivan does the work and I enjoy it :)
I must say that is the way things work at my place also. Hubs keeps them going I keep enjoying them.
My thumb is not green at all.LOL
Your yard is so beautiful and green.
With all the hot weather we are having trouble keeping it all watered. So we are getting brown spots.
Good job Bob.
Hugs
What a blessed girl you are....a hubby that likes to garden......Your yard is beautiful and his new bed is no exception.....Please tell him what a great job he does in keeping your yard in tip top shape....
He's done a wonderful job. Your garden looks fabulous! Well done!!
That's how gardening works at our house too! Patrick plants, cares for, and harvests. I cook, dice, and enjoy the fruits of his labor.
Your back yard is a sanctuary!
I love your back yard. I am so jealous. On post housing does not have the best landscaping available.
