May I help you?

A few months ago I told you about one of my residents at the nursing home, here. She is the one who thinks my name is Coco and she sits at the nurses desk with me.
She is still as cute as ever and I have another story to share with you.
She still sits near us because she is always trying to get up and she can't walk by herself. When I leave the nurses station I've been asking her if she will watch the desk for me. The other day there wasn't much activity around the desk when I asked her to watch things. When I came back and asked how she was, she said "Well, no one has come for help today". She was taking her duties seriously that day!
She likes one of the male aides that works in the evening, and she tells quite a story about how she found him in a dumpster when he was just a baby, and she knew she had to take care of him. She repeats this story and is quite earnest when telling it.
Is it any wonder I love her?

Love it! That is a great story and I remember stories like that too. Those residents know how to melt your heart don't they? I remember one we could give a note to and have her deliver to another worker and it was a way of saying something funny to the worker, but gave the resident a mission!
Love the story Cocoa!

Ahh, bless you for being such a good "friend" to this lady.

My dad spent the last two years of his life in a nursing facility and the care he received was phenomonal. :)

I'm sure this ladies family is very thankful for the love and care she receives. Just goes to show you that everyone has a mission while they are here on this earth.

Coco, that still cracks me up.

Did I tell you that Alfred is now working as a nurses aid at an assisted living facility. Of course he does the grunt work, but so far he's doing great with it. Hopefully this will be a stepping stone in his nursing career.

There are those that enter your life, and those that leave an impression. Great story...I loved reading it. I don't think I've ever been to this blog before; it's great.
