Annual Christmas shopping trip

Those of you who have been around for awhile, know about our annual sisters shopping trip.
Every year in the beginning of November, my sisters Terri and Cheri, and myself spend a few days doing our Christmas shopping.
We started early Friday morning, after a stop at Laura's house to check in on Alaina.
We shopped all day and were ready for a break when we stopped for supper. We ate at Monelli's, a wonderful Italian place in town. That revived us enough for another shopping stop before checking in at the hotel.
Here you see the results of the 3 of us shopping all day. We always feel funny loading up the luggage rack with shopping bags, but it's nice to sort everything out and redo our lists.
We always have a lot of fun talking and laughing during the evening at the hotel, and this night was no different. We were up far too long, but what fun we had!
Terri had to leave on Saturday morning, because of some school activities her daughter had, but Cheri and I made a few more stops on our way home. When we got home, we both had almost all of our shopping done!
What a fun way to get that shopping out of the way!

Sisters shopping day!

Every year my 2 sisters and I go Christmas shopping together.  We try to go early in November, before there is snow.  We always go on a Friday and spend the day shopping.  We stay in a local hotel that night and finish up on Saturday morning.
We look forward to this every year, because not only because we get a lot done, but we have such fun!

We had supper at the Olive Garden last night. This picture is an example of how we spend our time. Cheri was wiping her eyes because she was laughing so hard.

Here is the back of Cheri's van.  When you have 3 woman, Christmas shopping for more than a day, you end up with a lot of bags!
The shopping is done, but for a few odds and ends - now to get it wrapped!

My poor feet!

Many of you know that my 2 sisters (Terri and Cheri) and I have a tradition of going Christmas shopping together. Every year in the early part of November we schedule a Friday and shop all day. This past Friday was that day.
We started off about 8 in the morning, and shopped all day with just a short break for lunch and a chance to review our lists. We had a wonderful supper at The Olive Garden, and then made a few more stops.
This was what the hotel room looked like when we hauled everything into our room.
We made a few more stops on Saturday morning, before we returned home to our families. We had a lot of fun and there were several fits of laughter, but we all accomplished a lot. All three of us had sore feet by the time we got settled into the hotel room. I do have a few more things to finish up, but the end is in sight!

Tuesday is Veterans Day in the USA. Be sure you thank any veterans you know for what they gave for our country!

Girls day (and night) out!

Every year my sisters and I plan a Christmas shopping trip in early November. We go early in the season to beat the crowds and avoid bad roads. This year our trip fell on this past Friday and Saturday. We don't go too far, because we want to be able to return things if we need to. We started around 8:00 on Friday morning and go to a lot of different stores and the mall. We stay in a local hotel and often make a few more stops on Saturday. Here are Terri and Cheri, comparing coupons and Christmas lists in a toy store.

Look who we ran into at one of our stops - we thought perhaps Melissa was stalking us, or possibly she was spying and planned to report to Heather on what she saw in our carts!

Following a long day of shopping, our feet are aching and our knees are sore. We have made it part of our routine to have supper at the Olive Garden. Those of you who know us well, will not be surprised to hear that laughter is a big part of our day. Here is a picture of Terri, who is laughing so hard she can hardly breathe! (and no - we were not drinking!)

After eating too much at the Olive Garden, we went to the hotel. We always haul our bags up to the room so we can sort through them and mark down what was purchased on our lists. The night is filled with talking and more laughter and of course some dessert later. There was also a problem of noise during the night that kept a few of us from sleeping. I don't want to name the troublesome party, but I will tell you that Cheri and I were the ones that were awake! It's okay though - it gave us something to laugh about in the morning and I'm sure she will be harassed about it throughout the year! It's great to go home the next day and be able to say that most of my shopping is done, but what I really enjoy is the fun I have while spending time with my sisters. God has truly blessed me with a great family and I am so thankful that I am able to have fun and spend time with them.
