Fall Photo Day

Every year we try to get out in the Fall and get a photo of us with our grandkids for our Christmas card.  Saturday was the day we planned to do this.  It was cold!  We had our first hard freeze and as we drove to the park around 10am it was only 38 degrees! So, we were pretty chilly while taking these pictures.

The park we went to is near my childhood home, and we used to have family reunions there every year.  I love going back and reliving those memories.

The park has stone stair, streams and springs. There were quite a few other people there, braving the cold to get some photos.

However, we were having issues!  Connor wanted nothing to do with being separated from his mom.

He was fine for their photos.

We got some nice ones of Aaron, Laura and family.

"I want my mom!"

This is how things went.  Our card this year, will feature one screaming child.  Andrew suggests that the card message should be 'Joy to the World!'

It's ok, we made memories, right?

I think the card will be adorable and yes, a wonderful memory. You will smile every time you look back and remember. My kids never wanted a family picture like that!

I love it! It is so cute, and so NORMAL. Not so totally perfect that you can't really believe it! It adds humor, interest, and honesty.

There is no force with more power than a child needing mama. Frustrating, because it isn't what you wanted, but shh, I have a pretty big smile on my face right now...he's so cute, and looks so mad. The girls take it in stride, I love the pictures.

Hi, Mari!
Even though Connor wasn't on board for the pictures, it will still look cute and I like Andrew's suggestion that the card message should be 'Joy to the World'!
And that park looks amazing!
Have a blessed week!

It looks like a beautiful park, and I like all the family pictures--including the ones with an unhappy Connor. Whichever one you choose will be great, because it will represent such a candid moment.

Haahaha OH CONNOR!!!! Just being the little fellow he is ... but so sweet and precious even crying his lungs out. Remind me to show you a picture of our Guy standing in the parking lot at church a few weeks ago. Literally screaming to they sky as though the entire world had come to an end! And unlike Connor, he had no reason to do it! It was a mystery. I like the beautiful Christmas card photos just the way they are! xoxo
