Our Community Fair was last week. Alaina and Ruby usually enter things to the exhibits, and we went to see their things Friday afternoon.
I love the colorful Ferris Wheel!
Laura and Aaron were there with the girls, so they came to the exhibit hall to show us their entries. Here's a few of them. It was hard to see them all because they put everything behind fencing so it isn't damaged or stolen.

This is Ruby and Aaron on the Ferris wheel
You have to see the animals when you go to the Fair. I thought these sleeping goats were cute.
We were good and didn't buy any Fair food. :) But, we did get a lemonade to share.
I don't get nearly as excited about the Fair as I did when I was a kid, but it's always fun to walk through and see everything, especially if your grandkids are part of it!

So much creativity, Mari. I love ❤️ the carved eagle and every other item. The ferris wheel 🎡 is so colourful and the goats 🐐 are adorable.
LOVE that wheel and the brightness. Congrats to the winners. Blue and red ribbon. Very, very cool. We used to work fairs and I tell you, the fry station almost always served half-burnt, half-raw fries. Eww. That said, looks like you had a wonderful weekend. That rocks.
It sure is a colorful fair. It’s been about 10 years since I went to the county fair. It was hot and we stayed inside looking at the exhibits.
I really like that clay cactus. 🌵 The goats are precious, sleeping like that. So sweet. The girls are great little artists and crafters. I hope they stick with it into adulthood - it will bring them much joy as they create.
The weather looks perfect! And the girl's creations are wonderful! The cutting board looks like something you would see in a high-end shop! And I would buy the coin purse.
P.S. forgot to say this is the coolest, prettiest Ferris Wheel I have ever seen!
The fair looks lovely and not too crowded. I can imagine it's lovely to see your grandkids enjoying the fair, and enjoying they enjoyment.
Looks like a wonderful fair there
Congrats to the girls on winning the ribbons. They entered some awesome projects to the fair, so no wonder they won. We have a small community fair just in town by us every 4th of July weekend, but have not been there in years. Those goats are so dang cute. If we lived on a farm my Bob wanted some fainting goats. Awww....what fun! Fairs are something that I didn't get to go to very often when I was a kid. Then when we lived in my husband's home area, he managed a farm store and had a display at the county fair every summer. Our kids had plenty of opportunities to go to the fair. :)
I'm so glad that your girlies were able to be a part of it by making things for it and then winning such great reward from it. As and Bs! Good job, Girls!
We have Fireman's Fairs in our neck of the woods, but they're not as elaborate as fairs I've seen in other parts of the country. I love that they girls submitted crafts, we're missing that aspect.
Looks like a lot of fun and very colorful! I have not been to a fair in a long time!! Congrats to the winners of those ribbons!!
So beautiful
Congratulations on the awards Ladies!!!
Congrats girls. Oh Mari, those photos remind me of years gone by. Haven't been to a fair in a long time.
Although my days of riding a ferris wheel came to an abrupt end well over 50 years ago (I threw up in the lap of my date!)*, I do enjoy watching them from the ground. This one you pictured is so pretty!
The entries of your granddaughters are great! The sleeping goats, how precious is that?!!!!
*My date married me a couple of years later. (wink)
The girls are so creative...I wonder where they get these talents from? Could it be their grandmother? I've always enjoyed going to the fairs but haven't been in several years. The older grandkids would always have a show animal and we enjoyed going to see their projects. Looks like the girls were enjoying the rides...
Wow, the girls items are so impressive! Great job Ladies! This brings back such memories from my youth. I loved the fair when I was a kiddo. Matt and I went to the local one here but it's far smaller than it was when I was a kid. We did enjoy a treat though. I'm impressed by your will power! Lol 😋
We had our fair here this month too and looks just like yours. :). We used to go but don't anymore. The older I get the more I don't like crowds.
Congratulations to the girls!!!
I am glad to hear they submitted something and won! I agree, seeing it through their eyes makes a difference. We used to go to the Orange County fair but it is way to crowded and expensive! Oh and hot too. I am happy I made it to the beach. I think I would have enjoyed your anniversary adventure!
The girls' fair projects are all great! That ferriswheel is the most colorful one I've ever seen, I think. Nice! I am looking forward to the Sweetcorn Festival on Saturday, in my old hometown in Ohio. I'm also looking forward to some cooler temps!! :)
We will have our village fair this weekend and fireworks. But… the first rain is arriving tomorrow for many days so it won’t be very attractive.
Fairs are always fun to walk around. I used to love looking at the big horses at our state fair. Haven't been in quite a few years though!
Great pictures of the fair. You really captured the feel of it with all the colors and fun rides.
Love the carved eagle. and I enjoyed seeng the girls' entries as well.
Lovely photographs from the fair.
I like the girl's creations very well done.
All the best Jan
Oh how fun!! I miss being able to walk around like this, with these rotten knees of mine. But I used to LOVE fairs & festivals! It looks like you folks had a grand time. Love, Andrea xoxo
I have not been to a community or state fair in many years, since the years my children would show their sheep at the State Fair. But I always get this bit of tingle, a good nostalgic tingle, when I think of fairs! Your grand girls did well with their crafts!
I agree that going to these events is not as exciting as it used to be, but those girls definitely add some fun. Is Ruby as tall as Alaina now??
I despise fairs and won't go, but I acknowledge that untold tens of thousands love them and cannot wait for them to arrive each year! What I can never get over is how expensive it is. I mean, ridiculously expensive. BUT TG and I both like to wander the exhibit halls and see the livestock and the many creative entries. As usual your girlies outdid themselves and produced some useful quality items! The leather change purse is wonderful! GREAT picture of Bob sipping lemonade, wearing his Sprinkles shirt. A classic, as it were, hahaha! Your pictures are wonderful too. I saved the sleeping goats and they are now my desktop background! xoxo
