Meeting Terri!

I'm back from my little break!  I had a wonderful time with blog friend Terri from Your Friend from Florida. Terri flew in to Grand Rapids on Monday morning and left on Thursday afternoon. I can tell all of you that know her through the blogging world that she's just as sweet in person as she is on her blog.  Here's a few of the things we did while she was here in Michigan.

We went to Laura and Aaron's house so she could meet Alaina and Ruby.

We went to Grand Haven to see Lake Michigan and the lighthouse.

We went to Meijer Gardens and Sculpture park and checked out some of the Gardens and took a tram ride to see a lot of the Sculptures.

One of the most famous sculptures there, is this DaVinci horse, made from drawings done by DaVinci.  There is one here in Grand Rapids and another duplicate in Italy.

We went to Heather and Andrews house to meet Cassie and Connor!

We went to Windmill Island in Holland

You feel like you are walking into a town in the Netherlands.

It's the home of DeZwaan Windmill; the last windmill that the Netherlands allowed to leave the Netherlands.  It's now 250 years old, it came to Holland in 1964 and it's still working.

One last shot of Terri in the Windmill Island Gardens

After Windmill Island, we went into the City of Holland to see this display honoring The Wizard of Oz.  The author, Frank Baum had a cottage here and his family said much of the story was written in Holland.

There were also sculptures of characters from The Wizard of Oz, including Dorothy and Toto

and of course, the Wicked Witch!

We did a little shopping in Holland too.

We had several days of fun and also relaxation and talking.  What a wonderful time together and such a joy to meet another blogging friend!

Hi Mari! Looks like you and Terri had a lot of fun. It's so fun to finally meet other blogging friends, because, even though we haven't met, we sure know a lot about each other! Looks like you had an awesome time together, and Terri got to meet the whole crew. Charly and I have often talked about making a trip to visit some blogging friends when I retire, and you can bet that you will be on my list! Have a good week. See you again soon!

What a great visit you had with Terri. You took her to see some wonderful sights that Michigan has to offer. I did not even know about the author of the Wizard of Oz, nor did I know about the windmill being the last one the Netherlands allowed to leave. Janice

OK so, I can see that I need to come back. And see all of that stuff that Terri saw and do all of that stuff that Terri did. I mean we can leave out that one lighthouse, hahahaha! Been there and done that, froze practically to death. Wonderful visit! xoxo

Oh how fun to meet a blogging friend, Mari. And it sounds (& looks) like you treated her well while she was there. Dan and I talk about going to Holland for our 50th wedding anniversary next year. We've never been there but our son & daughter-in-law have been & they loved it. Dan is taking our kitty this week, up to Kentwood (2.5 hr drive from our home in Indiana) for oral surgery....your neck of the woods. I'm not going but if I was, I'd suggest we meet for coffee for a little bit. Maybe next time around. Love, Andrea xoxo

Love this so much!! It just fills my heart how we can make such connections through this precious blogland space. I met one blogging buddy many years ago now. But I have a special connection with several - like you dear Mari - even though I haven't met any of you. I just think that's the coolest thing about remaining in blogland. :) It sure looks like it was a wonderful visit and I'm so glad you gals had such a fun time! 💗💗💗

Terri is a great gal, isn't she! And so are you (I can tell). I enjoyed our brief visit with Terri in Brunswick, Georgia. Took me a few minutes for me to warm up and speak. I tend to be a wallflower around people when first meeting, but once I know someone & feel comfortable, they probably wish I'd shut up. 😂 Wonderful photos! Blessings. 🩷
