I'm just stopping in to touch base with all of you. I've been keeping up with your blogs and wanted to give you an update.
Life is still very busy here. We did hire a new nurse who will start orientation tomorrow. She is just working part time, but every bit helps. Thanks to each of you who e-mailed me or left messages of support. Your prayers about this are very appreciated.
We've had a fairly calm winter here this year. We've had much less snow than usual, as shown by only one snow day for the kids so far. I for one, am not complaining about that!
Here's just a couple of photos of how things are looking.
This is the bayou on the Grand River, near to our home. It's pretty frozen at the moment.
This is making the ice fishermen happy!
The other morning, I was coming home from work after working the night shift. It was a beautiful morning!
Here's the corner of our road on that same morning. Seeing the sun just starting to rise on a frosty morning is a beautiful thing!
Thanks again for the prayer and concern. Please continue to pray for more nurses and that any new hires work out. I'll see you at your blogs!

Prayers continue, Mari!! Thanks for checking in with us. Take care of yourself, dear friend!!
Beautiful winter photos Mari.I'm glad to hear you will be getting a bit of help. Take care of yourself.
Hi Mari - continued prayers that you get more help so you don't have to spend to many hours on the job. That can be stressful. I love your winter pictures. Glad you checked into give us an update. I miss your regular posts. Hope the week goes well.
Oh wow, Mari, I'm sorry to hear that you are still under so much pressure. I will continue to think about you and send prayers. Hope this new nurse helps out!
My older daughter is training to be an Occupational Therapist and is doing her placement in a hospital and the staff that are training her are so super critical of everything she does, down to fiddling with her hair too much, that I do wonder how keen there are to get new staff! I hope they aren't putting her off and she ends up giving up and going to work in a shop.
I will pray for you.
Like you said, every little bit helps. Hope the part timer works out well and stays around a long while.
Beautiful winter morning scenes.
You are missed and we will continue to pray for good nurses to help relieve the pressure on you.
Hadnt caught up with all the extra work you were doing, but checked in on your blog and saw it. Glad you have someone starting. Your pictures are amazing, but it looks really cold!! We haven't had any snow yet for which I'm thankful. Lovely to look at but..... We've had such heavy rain and winds and many areas are flooded. Our river has flooded in Stratford upon Avon and it's so strange to see the birds perching on the tops of the seats wondering why they can't just fly on to the ground. Wales has been particularly badly hit.
Take care Mari and praying for the situation.
Somehow I have missed the "situation" but whatever it is I hope it gets better. Love that sunrise picture.
the nursing shortage is here in Canada too … sigh … you gals are so appreciated … (hugs)
So glad to see a check in Mari....I hope things get settled at work so you can get back to your blog. I miss you!! Hugs!!
I have missed you, but certainty understand. Love the photos, keeping you in prayer. Our winter so far hasn't been as bad as previous winters, so it seems.
Your pictures are gorgeous as always! I hope the new nurse fits in and comes up to speed quickly and I hope you can find more soon!
Mari, this is beautiful! I'm sorry you're going through this. It's hard. Hope things get better with your new hire. Good to touch base. I've missed you!
I hope everything works out with the new nurse. Have a wonderfully blessed week.
Well that is good news and I see that winter is still gripping your neck of the woods, but surely it will ease off soon. We miss you and love you, and of course you are in my prayers. xoxo
Such pretty photos - it looks so peaceful. I would not be out on that ice though!
