Isn't this a cute little guy? He loves to hang out on our front porch and eat acorns.
Bob is less a fan than I am, because he and his family are always making tunnels through his flower beds.
However, last week he reached a new low.
Our front porch has been showing some wear and tear. Some of the block was deteriorating, but because we are trying to have it redone, we haven't repaired it. I guess Mr Chipmunk found the weakened spot because when we came back from our vacation, this is what we found.
What had been a very small broken spot, is now a big hole, with a tunnel under the porch. And the top of the porch was covered in acorns and broken bits of stone and block. Bob cleaned it up and the next day the mess was back on top of the porch. So, he had to fill it all in and cover it until we can have the whole thing redone.
Mr Chipmunk is now back to just eating his acorns on top, instead of tunneling.

Who knew little critters like Chip and Dale could make such a nuisance of themselves and cause so much damage. I’ve always been fond of chipmunks but I’ll be thinking of this post when I see them scampering across my lawn
Wow hard to believe a squirrel can do such damage. I think they are cute but I've heard they can be pests.
Haha cute but a pain in the butt. I do love seeing the rabbits, squirrels, deer and badgers in our garden but boy do the cause damage!
I had no idea a chipmunk could do that!
Yes, its time for Mister Chip to head on!!lol
That is crazy!! I did not know those cute little things could be such pests!
They are cute, but they can be quite a pest too...as you and Bob have found out.
What a mess that critter made...
Cute indeed but a bit messy =)
Yes, cute, but fearless. :)

We have a few around here, too. They are cute to look at but, yup, they can cause some real trouble.
Cute little things but they can sure cause some damage. He thought he found paradise!!
Been having a bit of a chipmunk issue here too. Some keep getting under our house in the back and I sometimes can hear them scratching in the wall. Ugh!
Oh no!! He's so cute, but that's definitely a problem. Just like our cute little squirrel that comes up and eats all our pumpkins and also our threshold. Little stinkers.
Whaaaaaat? Tell that little feller he'd better turn tail and run from Mr. Bob. I'll grant him asylum down here below the Sweet Tea Line where the winters aren't so harsh, but if he tears up my property, he's out on his cute furry ear ... haaaahaha xoxo
