The next time you paint a room, I have a tip for you. Get one of these!
This is a paint shield. Bob picked this up when we painted. It only cost a little over a dollar. It fits right into the rim of the can and lets you pour the paint, without getting it into the ridges. It worked perfectly. When I took it off, the rim was nice and clean, which makes putting the top on and getting it back off later, so much easier!
Here's my clean paint can! The shield rinsed off easily and is ready for the next use.

So many cool things to make painting easier! I like this one a lot!
I've tried this and it's great. A real marriage saver! (He wipes the paint can clean; I do not).
This is a really great idea. Thanks for sharing.
Good idea. Thanks for sharing. One can never have too much help!
Thanks for the tip. Have a nice Tuesday.
That's a great idea!
So, off to Home Depot today for me!!!
will file that one away! currently our home is all log, so no paint cans needed. but you know how often we move!!!
Oh yes, those plastic attachments work great and they wash off so you can use them again! I think we might have three or four of them out in the garage. I also use the plastic roller pan liners. So much easier to just throw them away (and easier to pour leftover paint back in the can). There are so many gadgets that make painting a littler easier than it used to be - but I still prefer hiring it done (now that we found a painter who is reasonable!).
Hi Mari! Great tip! We just painted a bedroom, and we'll be painting another one too. I'll mention this to my husband. I would think not only a clean rim, but a great pour too. No sloshing, which happens a lot!
Blessings!

If I ever paint again, I will be sure to pick one up. I love a clean rim!
Awesome tip!!! Blesings

I have needed that so many times over the past 2 years!
A ha! I make a terrible mess of the paint can! I will get one of those. Thanks for the tip.
