Checking on Great Grandpa

Last week my Dad had another procedure done on his heart. He had a defibrillator implanted last year to control an occasional irregular heart beat.  He had done well until a few months ago when he was shocked 3 times in one day.  The Doctor went in and removed the area that stimulates the heart beat, so it's now controlled by the pacemaker/defibrillator.  It was a long day at the hospital, but he was able to go home that night and is doing well.
He's on a lot of meds, so I go and set them up for him. It can be overwhelming when you take a lot, several times a day and this way he just has to open the pill box and take them.
I had Alaina with me, so she came along.  She said we have to "check on Grandpa".  Grandpa was very happy to see her and took her outside to pick some flowers to bring to her mom.

Aren't they cute together?

Hi Mari! I'm so sorry that your Dad had to have another procedure. But it does make me happy that there are things medicine can do to improve health. How fortunate he is to have you! You have the medical background and level of comfort with medications that he needs. Bless you!

Those photos remind me of my granddaughter. She's two years old, and picked my last two flowers from my bulb bed when she was in last week. Oh well. It made her happy! Looks like Alaina and your Dad are happy too :)
Blessings,
Ceil

Those are sweet pictures! I am so happy that they were able to correct his heart issues and that he is now stabilized. Having Alaina along was a shot in the arm for him that gave him energy and a very good day.

And AGAIN you bring tears to my eyes. That last picture should be enlarged, framed, and hung on the wall in your house and his house and Laura's house and why don't we just hang one in my house. xoxo and many fervent prayers for your dad's continued health.

Sorry to hear about your Dads heart problems. It is so wonderful what can be done today to help. I'm guessing Alaina's visit was probably as important as all the pills he has to take. The Bible says we have to become as little children - those photos are such a reminder of that. Total love and trust in great-grandpa as we should have in our Saviour. (Sorry, I'm done preaching.)

Just precious! You will treasure these always. My sister had her children later than I did and mama and daddy said they were an unexpected blessing that God knew they would need in their late years. I have a photo of mama with my nephew sitting on a buckets with a tin can of corn feeding the ducks. This is priceless.
