Baking day

I have recently discovered a new blog, thanks to my friend Nancy. She told me I should check this site out. It's called The Pioneer Woman Cooks. This women lives on a ranch and she is quite a cook. She does step by step pictures with her recipes and they all look good. This morning I made her cinnamon rolls. They make a lot so are perfect to give away. The finished product is above. Next time I make them I think I will use a little less icing. It's really good, but I think it overpowers the rolls. While they were still warm I set out to deliver them and had quite a frustrating time. Four of the places I stopped had no one home!!! I guess their rolls will not be warm from the oven when they receive them!

I wish you could be one of my neighbors! I think about doing things like that, but I need to put feet to my thoughts. You are so sweet.

Mari,

They look wonderfully delicious! I'm sure the gift recipients will love them whether or hot cold, but hot cinnamon rolls just out of the oven are awesome. I used to help Grandma make them and when they came out of her woodstove oven they were delicious.

Thanks so much for your kind words of love and support on my post tonight. I appreciate your prayers and will keep you in mine.

Blessings,
Mary

Now that is just not nice.

I am sitting at work, it's 7 am, I have a cup of coffee..... and you have to go and post a picture of delicious looking cinnamon rolls.

I might as well through my coffee out now, it just doesn't taste the same. :)

Oh yummy! We had a baking day yesterday that I will post about soon but Mark said, "We need to do more of this" which I loved so maybe that will be our next project. I love the idea of having enough to share.

PLEASE, bring them to my house!!!

Food is my all-time favorite Christmas gift. It's such a LUXURY I don't even worry about fat and calories. Today we got in the mail 3 packs of cookies along with some peppermint hot cocoa, from a family who used to be our neighbors but moved away this summer.
Then I went to buy groceries and bought eggnog.
And on Friday we're baking LOTS of Christmas cookies to give away. I'm thinking about ovenighting some to our old neighborhood friends. I wonder if they would make it?

The cinnamon rolls were an inspired idea...
