Works for me Wednesday

My tip for today is about wrinkled clothes. I don't know what the deal is with my clothes. They seem to wrinkle easily. I fold them, or hang them and put them away; but when I get them out, they are wrinkled. That's bad enough, but the other problem is that I hate to iron. Bob teases me that I don't even know what one is. So - what to do when you are getting ready and your shirt is all wrinkled?
You take a clean washcloth, get it wet and wring it out. Then you put it and the shirt in the dryer. Let it run for about 4 minutes, depending on the heaviness of the clothing item. When you take it out of the dryer - ta da! The wrinkles are gone!
Kristen from We are THAT Family is again hosting Works for me Wednesday. Stop and see her for a bunch of good idea's!

Alvin!

Last year we had a chipmunk that used to come on our front porch from time to time, and would drive the cat crazy. ( We have a full glass door, that Oliver loves to sit by and watch outside)
We called that chipmunk Chippy. This year I think her children have arrived. We've seen three of them running around in the woods next to our house. However, there is one that spends most of his time on our porch. We see him there daily, and he will often spend an hour at a time near it.
We've named these three, Simon, Theodore and Alvin. Of course, the one that always visits is Alvin. He brings seeds onto the porch and eats them, he runs back and forth, will jump down and come back, all the Oliver's consternation!
One day Oliver was crouched way down, tail flicking back and forth as he watched, only to have Alvin come running against the glass door. Alvin may be a little too brave for his own good!
The other day I laid on the floor, to get a cat's eye view of the action:

Here's Alvin, right on the edge of the porch.

He comes closer, while Oliver keeps watch.

"Hmmm - this maple seed is quite tasty, and don't you think I'm cute?"

"Na,na, na! You can't get me!"

We're finding this quite entertaining!

It's graduation time!

It's that time of the year; lots of graduations and along with them, comes the open houses. We've had a few to go to this year, and I thought I would show you some pictures from one.
This was the open house for Bob's nephew Max. This family is really into cars - especially restoring old cars. Max will be going to a unique college in the fall, where he will receive a degree in restoring antique cars. It's no surprise he enjoys this, because he grew up working on cars with his Dad and brother.
This open house was held in their back yard, and on display were some of the old memorabilia and cars they have worked on. There was old music to go with the old cars and picnic type food to eat!

This is one of two old gas pumps they have.

This is an old soda cooler - it still works!

This old truck is one that Max's brother Christopher drives. It's well known and recognized in town. It's had a few different types of pain jobs, and only comes out in the summer.

This is an old Skylark, that Max and his Dad worked on as part of his application to McPherson College. They really did a lot of work on it, and now it's his summer ride!

This is what Max drives in the winter - a neat old Mustang.

This is the next project. It's a 1958 Edsel. It holds special meaning to Bob's family because it's exactly like the one they had as kids. Here you see Bob's Mom, with his brother Rog and Tom, and sisters Karla and Diane.

Neat old tail lights.

The 1958 Edsel

This is one of the biggest projects. This is an Auston Healey kit car. Rog completely built this one. I just love it!

It was fun looking at everything, and it made a unique graduation party!
