Works for me Wednesday

Today is Works for me Wednesday and it is the "brand loyal edition." Shannon has asked us to post about brands we love. I am not someone who sticks to certain brands and when buying groceries I often use the store brand. However - I recently saw these on sale and decided to try them out. They are Glass Plus Wipes - glass and multi surface cleaner. I keep this container in the bathroom and have found it is a lot easier to keep a bathroom clean when these are handy. They clean the mirror without streaking. It is easy to wipe down the faucets so they shine and with a swipe the counter is clean too. I am much more likely to do a quick clean up when these are handy and I don't have to get cleaning material or a rag. They also work on stainless steel, so I may have to get a container for the kitchen too! Glass Plus Wipes work for me. Labor Day

Today we had our annual picnic with my Dad's family. He comes from a family of 10. There were 5 boys and 5 girls. One sister died when she was 2 and the oldest sister died about 10 months ago. The others are all living and live fairly close to each other. They have remained a close family and frequently do things together. There are lots of cousins and we remain close also. Here is my Dad (3rd from left) with 3 of his brothers.

There is always plenty of food at these gatherings!

The park we go to every year is beautiful, with a small stream and ponds. It seems every year at least 1 kid gets soaked!
These are 2 of my nieces; Shaelyn and Halle.

Here is Heather (in the middle) with my nieces Chelsea and Katelyn.
We feel that we have really been blessed to be members of this family. All of the brothers and sisters are Christians. All of their kids are Christians and many of the great grandchildren are Christians. These people are not Christians in name only. They show their faith by the way they live and have testified to it when they have gone through hard times. They are also a lot of fun. There is no gathering that does not include lots of laughter and practical jokes! We have often said that our Grandma had her hands full raising this household of pranksters.

Campfire

Sunday night Laura and Aaron asked us to come over and enjoy their new fire pit with them. Heather had gone out earlier with them so she was also there. It was a perfect night for this. The sky was clear and the stars were twinkling above us. It was cool enough for us to enjoy the fire. Their dog Sofie was enjoying the company, as was a friends dog that they were taking care of for the weekend. We roasted a few marshmallows and enjoyed their toasty goodness. (Sofie enjoyed a few too!) There is something so relaxing about sitting by a fire, watching the flames flicker and listening to the crackling of the wood. We also enjoyed watching the dogs playing with each other and smelling the wood smoke in the air. What a nice evening - dogs, family, campfire and marshmallows. Who could ask for more on a cool September night?
