Our church loves potlucks! We had another one last week and I made something new. Meatballs are always a favorite and when I saw this recipe, I thought it would be a nice switch. This one is hot dog bites with a yummy BBQ sauce that starts with your favorite sauce and is made even better.
I made a double batch and came home with a completely empty crockpot. These were a hit, and would be perfect for your next big gathering!
BBQ Hot Dog Bites
2 packages hot dogs, sliced or may use mini dogs
1/2 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
4 tablespoons melted butter
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup BBQ sauce
1 tablespoon honey
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Stir together the 1/2 cup BBQ sauce, melted butter, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Stir in hot dog slices till coated.
Place in shallow roasting pan and bake for 25 minutes.
Remove from oven and stir in the second 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce and honey. Bake for another 15 minutes, then broil for 2-3 minutes until hot dogs start browning.
May serve at this point, or place in crockpot on warm until serving.

Dear Mari, this looks and sounds amazing. Thank you so much for sharing.
Looks really good! People MAY like hot dogs better than meatballs!
We don't eat hotdogs often but this does sound and look delicious. I will have to remember this for the next potluck. I bet it does go over well.
Yum.
I am guessing that people are watching the doors to see you come in and to check out what you have brought for the pot luck dinner. I remember the days when some of the best cooks in town would bring their homemade dishes to church. SO...good!! This looks good Mari..
We have a church potluck every last Sunday of the month. This looks great, Mari!
Ohh! I need to try this for my family! They love anything with hot dogs and the sauce sounds delicious!
That looks good for a pot luck. I'm a bit finicky when it comes to hot dogs. They have to be kosher and all beef. Kids would really like these!
Our church potlucks will begin next month (ours are outside, and it's too hot in the summer). This will be a good one to take!! Thanks!! xo
That does look really good and perfect for a pot luck!
I was brought up on Church Potlucks and sure do miss them.
There is nothing like the Fellowship that happens around a tasty meal will the "Family".
What a great and simple meal that feeds a lot of people. Makes my mouth water just looking at the picture.

I bet my younger crowd would really enjoy these!
Oh wow - they sound amazing! Already copied down. They would be so perfect for a gathering. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful weekend dear Mari! xoxo

Another fine recipe. TFS Janice
Looks so delicious! Thank you Mari!
Wow, that sounds so good!! I can well imagine the pot would be empty at the end of that dinner! LOL. Thanks for sharing. It's always good to get some new good recipes to try for large groups especially! Love it!
I like the idea of a church doing potlucks. We don't have those over here. Your dish looks very tasty Mari.
This looks good and easy too. I've copied it to make. Thanks!!
It sounds good and nice for a special gathering
Oh, yum! It has been a long time but I had something similar at a potluck years ago and loved it.
Your church life is very rich. Our church - most churches in my area, in fact - are not that active...I often wonder if it's a regional thing..
Whaaaaat? Now this is my kind of family fun meal! My group will love it! Thanks and I have copied this one!!!! xoxo 🏴☠️
