A Day in my Life - June

Here we are in June, almost halfway through the year. We've made it to summer with warm temps, flowers and longer days, all of which are happy things for me.

Here's how the first day of the month went for me.

I was up around 7 and went downstairs for a 30 minute walk on the treadmill, then upstairs for a shower and a boiled egg for breakfast. I know some people think that's boring, but I'm a creature of habit in the morning and I enjoy that egg!

I started some laundry and then did a little catch up in blogland.

My sister had the day off from work and asked if I would come with her for a little shopping. She was looking for some things to wear to work.

As I was leaving, Bob was outside working on the flower beds. The sun was shining and it was 61 degrees, a beautiful day!

We got on the road and almost immediately were met with construction barrels. This is the norm for Michigan in the summer!

We had a successful shopping trip and both found a few tops.

We decided to stop and get a pedicure too, so now my feet look better!

We got home around 1 and I had some cottage cheese and fruit for lunch.

I finished the laundry I had started earlier and did a little cleaning, including the bathrooms.

Once that was done, I took advantage of the beautiful day and took a walk.  This is our road. The sun was shining and it was 70 degrees.

When I got to the woods I like to walk in, I found a small tree had fallen across the path, but it was pretty easy to get over.

A lovely path on the edge of the woods.

Lots of beauty to be seen along the path.

When I got back home, I did the last lesson in this Bible study I've been part of.  It was really good, and now we are breaking for the summer.

I made Spaghetti Pie for supper.

After supper, we walked around the yard to enjoy all the flowers that are blooming.

It was a quiet, peaceful evening and a perfect ending to a very nice day!

That sounds like a wonderful day. I eat a hardboiled egg quite a few times for breakfast through the week also. I love them. There is construction everywhere here in Illinois too. I think it's a Midwest thing. I saw you made the most out of the first day of June. I hope it's a good month for you!!

Mari, you live in a beautiful area and your flowers are beautiful. And boy could I relate to the road construction! There isn't a road in Texas that isn't being worked on. It's a mess. Have a wonderful week!

The temperature sounded ideal for a nice walk. Your first day of June sounded like a full day, but an enjoyable one with a lot of variety.

It sounds like a good day! I don't think a boiled egg for breakfast is boring, I like having little routines and habits. What a great shopping trip and what a treat to have a pedicure. You live in such a beautiful area.

Your yard is like a park with so many colorful trees and flowers. The older I get, I prefer to eat the same breakfast daily. Kashi, with added almonds and cranberries. That's it!
Your day sounded very nice and productive. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Oh my goodness, that pink rose bud is gorgeous! Your entire yard is gorgeous! I enjoyed 'walking' with you on that trail you shared here! How fun going shopping with your sister! That looks like a very nice store. I doubt those barrels on the highway were "Bob's Barricades" but that's what I though of!! LOL Your cottage cheese and fresh fruit looks yummy! So good and good for you! I have a good bathroom scrub on my list for today! Ugh. But it must be done! Have a blessed week ahead, Mari! xo

Sounds like a near-idyllic day, except for that boiled egg, hahahaha! Just kidding. I love hard-boiled eggs. Your roses are so pretty! And I'm still in love with that little shed! xoxo 🏴‍☠️

Your Monday sounds like a pretty perfect day to me. A little work and a whole lot of pleasure. Shopping with your Sis and walking around your gorgeous property are ideal. That pink rose is lovely.

I love the really pale rose! Hey, tics are at an all time high, be careful! My friend got a tick bite just going to the mailbox and almost died. Not to be a downer! Just after a walk, check your body. What kind of egg, soft boiled or hard boiled? I love your bathroom! Especially the raised sink and the shelves. Shopping with your sister must be the most fun!

Hi Mari, I enjoyed reading your post. I eat two eggs a day, either turn over or scrambled. I need the protein. I love where you live. I would walk a lot if I lived where you do. Have a great week!

Your area is at its best with all the flowers and fresh greens of spring. I enjoyed "spending this day" with you [via your blog]. But I am very curious as to what author Jerry Bridges had to say about 'respectable sins.'

Your Walking path looks so calm and relaxing....AND pretty. What a great day you and your sister had...It's always nice to find a few new items for our wardrobe. And then, a pedicure. I love getting a fresh pedicure. Your energy level must have been full on this day...I would have probably crashed after shopping. Your yard is beautiful....
