Have you read the Narnia Chronicles by CS Lewis? I read them when I was young and have read them as an adult. I've also enjoyed the movies. Because I so enjoy the stories, I was excited when I heard that the Ladies Christmas Luncheon at our church was going to have a Narnia theme. Here's some pictures to show you the world of Narnia at our church!
Just like in the story, we entered through the wardrobe.
Then we passed by fur coats in the wardrobe....
And then past the lamp post, into Narnia!
We had a delicious lunch, played some fun games and had an interesting talk, explaining how the story lines up with our life as Christians. In Narnia, the wicked witch is ruling and it's always winter but never Christmas, which is the celebration of Christ's birth. When Aslan, who represents Christ, returns he is killed, resurrected and wins the battle, freeing Narnia of winter and Christmas is once again celebrated.
If you've never read the story, or watched the movie, I recommend it!

What a wonderful theme! And the decorations are so creative and follow the story!
Such a creative way to bring the story to life and beautifully connect it to the true meaning of Christmas.
It really looks like a wonderful time of fellowship and celebration.
Very nice a creative! I’m sure you enjoyed it.
The ladies of your church are so very creative. I have never seen Narnia, but the setting is amazing and the telling of your story made me feel like I truly was there. Janice
Wow! You have some very talented folks at your church, Mari. All of the scenery is so wonderful! I've not read Narnia, but now I will have to. :) Thanks!
This is so awesome!! I would have loved to see that in person. I have read Narnia but haven't seen the movie. I will check it out over the holiday break.
Reminds me of a boy's birthday party my kids were invited to. It was Narnia themed and coats were hung at the front door like that. We had to go through them to get in. 😂
Really Impressive! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. :)
Love ❤️
A lot of work went into making this beautiful theme. I know it felt like you were right in the middle of a distant land. This is so cool..thanks Mari for sharing with us.
What a great thing to go to. Very fun!
I love the Narnia theme for your church function! So clever and creative. I've read some but all the chronicles of Narnia and that is my goal this next year, along with Lord of the Rings.
I loved the whole Narnia series . I remember reading the books out loud to my boys when they were young. The book that told of Aslan's death and coming back to life was read when we were going across country by car. I had so many tears I could hardly read it to the family as we drove.
I haven't read it in years. I think I will have to get them off the shelf and have a "Do-over"
Your setting at church is fabulous. What a way to celebrate.
