We had a fun Christmas activity last week. A Drive through Christmas Light and Music show was set up in a nearby town. We thought it would be fun to take our girls to see it.
We picked them all up and started the evening by taking them out for supper.
The light show was set up on a Fairground and covered a large area. We had to set our radio at a certain spot and get Christmas music that was synchronized to the lights.
There were lots of light tunnels to go through.
There was a whole section to honor the military, police, medical and first responders.
This one said In God We Trust.
When we got to the end the staff asked the girls how many elves they found. They found 10 - all of them. It took about 25 minutes to drive through, we all thought it was great!
After we brought the kids home, we drove through our own mini light show. This is the boulevard in our town. It's lit up all the way through town which is a few miles. We think our town has the best lights around! :)

This is the magic of Christmas. Everything about this post. And good job them. Found all ten!
Hi Mari! What great light shows! Very impressive! What a fun and memorable activity to do with your sweet girlies!
Dear Mari, what a great experience. 👍
Beautiful ❤️ light photos.
Your girls - sounds so cute. I like Culver's too. And I agree - nothing for a Dollar anymore at the Dollar Tree. How wonderful were the lights and taking your girls to see them. We used to do that too!
What a fun evening you planned with your girls. The light show looks fabulous.
Your town lights look so pretty too.
What a wonderful thing to do with the girls!! Cassie looks so happy in the car on the way, like she was so excited. You got great photos!! I really enjoyed this, because we may not be going to anything like this. I think my favorite is the three trees with the blue stars.
l love the way you guys are grandparents! Such a lovely outing for your grandchildren : )
What a fun night!! The light show is really nice, and I love all of their displays. In God We Trust is the motto of our town. The sheriff had bumper stickers made and it's amazing how many there are around town.
We have a couple of these light parks in our area and they are sooooo busy !! How fun for y'all and the girls..I know there were a lot of laughs and a lot of "Pretty's" that evening. I looked for the lighted "Space Force" sign, but I guess it's too new for them to have one. My grandson just transitioned from Air Force into Space Force. Even though we have driven through the light trails many times, I still enjoy going every year. The price over the years has risen from what was 7.00 dollars a car to 35.00.
I love love love this, what fun! Culver's isn't around here, but when we visited Grandma in Florida, there was one in town, the custard is so good. Just a vanilla cone, mmm. We have Lights On The Lake here, running along Onondaga Lake, it's so much fun, I went with Ben and his kids a few years ago, and many years ago, drove my big van through it packed with small children ha. You guys are such good grandparents!!!
Those public light shows are gorgeous and seem to get better each year. We have one, called the Garden of Lights. We go to it every couple of years but won't go this year. It's beautiful. We need to take a evening drive to look at the lights. There's one street where every house is decorated.
My Dollar tree store have items up to $19.99 -You have to be very discerning and know your prices. I've been enjoying shopping at Daiso. Its like a Japanese dollar store...it's replaced my dollar tree addition! Cute stuff, better quality and inexpensive. Even my husband liked it.
That looks so great!! I'm sure the girls had a wonderful time. :)
What a magical time and so fun to take your kiddos to enjoy it too.
I really love the light shows. I think Dave and I need to drive around and see the sights real soon.

That's some light show!! We go driving around to look at the lights in our area and some are spectacular, but we've never gone to one of the big, organized ones like the one you shared. What a fun night for you and your girls. Oh and yes, Dollar Tree?? I think not anymore!!
What a fun nighttime festivity to participate with the grands. Wish we had something like this when my grands were little. Janice
I've never heard of Culvers. None around here.
What a treat to take the girls to see all the lights.
Such a fun evening with the girls.
The light show looks excellent.
All the best Jan
Wow! I am amazed at the lights what a wonderful event to go to each year and so special to enjoy it with children.
I enjoy seeing all of the activities you do with your grands. I look forward to being the same kind of involved grandparent. Right now I just have a grand-cat :)
looks nice! We have something similar here called The Wayne County Lightfest! It's 5 miles of lights like you show. We haven't been in a few years though!
What a fun experience with the girls.
Your lighted boulevard looks beautiful.
Wow, $7 items at your Dollar Store? The prices in the ones by me went up to $1.25 and $1.50 and there is one aisle that has $5 items, but that's the highest. And you can still get pretty nice greeting cads for $0.50.
How fun to experience that with the girls! Thanks for sharing - wish I could have gone!!
What a delightful outing. I love how you made it a full experience from supper to the Dollar Store, and then the synchronized light show. The elf hunt sounds like such a fun little challenge for the kids, and the mix of music, lights, and themed displays really brings the holiday spirit to life. It seems like a memory everyone will cherish.
