Finally!

After what seems like a very long time, we were able to have the girls overnight again.  Between scheduling and me having covid, it's been close to 2 months!

I went and picked them up after I got done working Friday evening.  Bob had to work till 7 that night.  We stopped at Dairy Queen for some blizzards on the way home and put them in the freezer  until Bob got home.  They were quite anxious to surprise him with them.  They did a little playing with Lego's and then had some fun on Bob's iPad.

Here's what they were doing - checking out the new Voila app, which I know a few of you have done too.

This is what the app did to us.  It's Me, Ruby, Alaina, Bob.
I think it made us all look younger, took away wrinkles from Bob and I and gave us smooth nice skin!
The girls thought this was pretty fun.

Then we settled down for a movie.  Ruby snuggles with Grandpa.

Alaina settled in on the loveseat.
They went to bed around 10 and were up at 7:30.   They love having breakfast with Grandpa and think it's fun having orange juice in little cups.
He had to go to work about 8:30, so the sadly said good bye.
They are very good about making their beds and picking up.  Then they played downstairs for a while, while I made some food for Sunday and started some laundry.

This is one of the things Alaina did.  It's an old Discovery toys mosaic board the our kids used to play with.  Alaina loves to make up her own patterns on it, and I thought this was a pretty one.

We did a fun craft that I will show you later, and then it was time to go.

They left this cute note for Bob .  (Alaina, Ruby - I love Grandpa.)   You know he loved seeing that when he came home!

We went to my Dad to get his pills ready and were sad to find him and Ann gone.  The girls were all set to see them, and had even made some birthday cards for Ann.  We had picked up lunch, so we had that at their house and left them a note telling them we had been there.
Then it was time to go home.
Hopefully the next time won't be as far away.

I have missed seeing them! Now I can't wait to try this app, it will be fun. Alaina made a lovely pattern, with each shape placed perfectly!

I always enjoy seeing the girls! I need to go back and look at some of your crafts as Audrey is coming for the last week of the month. I need inspiration.

So glad they could come and spend the night, it has been a long time. Seeing that pattern that Alaina created makes me think she might grow up to be a quilter:)

I'm so glad that you and Bob were able to have the girls over for the weekend. That has been the hardest part for me through covid...not seeing any of our grands. But as things are opening up more and more we hope to see at least part of them before too much longer.

I had not heard of the Voila app! I'll have to check that out. It captured your inner beauty as well as your outer beauty, Mari! Bob looks quite handsome too and you can tell him I said so. The girls are always adorable, and so talented and caring too. So you can't keep up with your dad and Ann, hmmmm? They don't let any grass grow under their feet! Hahahaha xoxo

So glad you finally got to see the girls. Our son and family are moving about 2 hours away on Monday so we've had the grands for a final sleepover. I sure am going to miss them.
