Cooking Thursday

A few days ago, I showed you some cute reindeer candy I made with Alaina.  They were so easy to make, I hesitate to put them on a cooking post, but I thought some of you might like to try them out, so here you go!

Pretzel Reindeer Candy

Mini pretzels twists
25 Rolo candies
50 candy eyes*
25 round red candies - any type*

Place parchment paper on a cookie sheet and preheat oven to 250.
Place 25 pretzels on the cookie sheet.  Put 1 Rolo candy on each pretzel.
Break or cut more pretzels in half, so you have 50 antlers.  (This is the hardest part - my pretzels kept breaking!)
Place cookie sheet with pretzels and Rolo's in oven for 2 1/2 minutes.
When you take them out you have to work fast.  Place pretzel halves into softened Rolo, then press in eyes and red noses.
Place into refrigerator for about 15 minutes to cool, then enjoy the cuteness!

*I got my candy eyes and the red candies at Hobby Lobby in the cake/candy decorating section.

I had to stop and go to the previous post to 'watch' her with helping you...what fun! And her making cards for all and all the stops of delivering...such a proud grandma you are. Sweet, sweet, sweet.

And these candied pretzel reindeer are so adorable!!

I may have to wait to do these with the kids. Tried to do ornaments the other night and we got paint everywhere. Should have used water paint. Ugh. Those little munchkins are too busy. Well, my middle girl. Connor got his done without a mess. I did this with a Wednesday night of 1-5 year olds. Not again!

Hi Mari, These are adorable and I have a neighbor who would love to receive some of these!

I apologize for being slow to visit. My laptop has been giving us fits!

They are so cute! I make faux turtles in a similar way - heat rolo on pretzels then place pecan on top while still warm & then let them set. Such fun goodies this time of year ;)

Are the pretzels sweet or savoury? This looks to be about my level of baking. Ha.
