Friday evening we stopped at the Eastmanville Bayou, which is about 1 1/2 miles from our house. It's a small county park that sits between the Grand River and the Bayou. There is a canoe and kayak launch, trails to walk, a small pavilion and fishing spots. We just went for a little walk and so I could take some pictures, as I've been enjoying seeing the beauty as I drove by it.
A view of the bridge over the river.
I always enjoy this view of the underside of the bridge.
Some pretty wildflowers we saw on our walk.
A view of the river.
This is purple loosestrife. It's growing like crazy by the bayou. It's a plant that isn't native to the area and is very invasive near the water. I guess it's like kudzu in the South. I have to admit that I love seeing it - it's beautiful, but at the same time it's bad for everything around it as it takes over.
Here's a close-up of it.
This is the bayou side. You can see it growing on the other bank of the bayou also.
It was a beautiful evening, perfect for a walk by the river.

With your talent for picture taking and your husband so talented at woodworking...when you retire from nursing, you two could have a great business. Thanks for sharing these pretty pictures.
A beautiful place to walk and enjoy the beauty.
So beautiful! Wonderful place to walk and enjoy it all.
What a peaceful way to end the day. I especially enjoyed the one under the bridge. Reminds me of the effect 2 mirrors make...going on and on.
The river and view around it is refreshing. It can be very ralaxing to take a walk in tge area. Those flowers are beautiful, it's fine if the just grow in the wild and take over the whole land. That would look awesome!
Wat a nice spot for a walk!! It is 62 degrees here in NoAla this morning. I am doing a happy dance right now! I can walk in the crisp air this morning and I won't be "glistening" at the end of walk!
Extremely pretty. I think if it'd be that close to home, I'd go there every day to unwind. The flowers, of which I've never heard of 'til this morning, are gorgeous...but I like the perspective of 'under the bridge' best of all today.
Mari, you have such a good photographic eye. Bob isn't the only talented artist in the family! I have never heard of purple loosestrife before. It is beautiful and is something that perhaps I could even grow! LOL It is a lot prettier than kudzu!!
Beautiful Mari....thank you for sharing. Blessings
What a beautiful spot...lucky you that it is so close to your house! I love that loosestrife...never heard of it but it sure is beautiful!
You live near so many pretty places. Lovely area for a walk. I enjoyed your photos.
Loved the pictures...thanks for sharing.
That was a nice walk, thanks for taking us.
Such a nice place to walk! It's a shame those lavender flowers aren't good for the environment. I love the look of those. :)
xoxo
I really Love the purple loosestrife! The last picture of it from across the river is like a painting. So lovely!
Such beautiful photos Mari!! We have a lot of the wildflowers and loose strife in our area too. Pretty but pesky. ;) Thanks for sharing!
Such a wonderful place and lovely photos. Greetings!
Wow! This is an absolute beautiful post. I would love to take a day to stroll like that! Your photos only get better and better. How creative to take a shot under the bridge.
So pretty! We sure are blessed to live in an area with so much natural beauty. Remind me that I said that in a few months when all we see is white and we're freezing. ;)
Your shots of the underside of the bridge are awesome! Love the perspective. Also, the bayou is beautiful. Thank you for sharing such lovely views with us!
Oh, those wildflowers! So pretty. I was wondering why they called it a "bayou" but I remember that there were a lot of French settlers in that part of the country. I only think of the bayous in Louisiana, but of course that's not the only place where they are.
What an absolutely lovely place for a walk!
You are just taking the prettiest pictures! The purple loosestrife is beautiful but then I am partial to purple. There's just something about a river. xoxo
