Honk!

Last week I went out with some friends for supper and a play.  These are all people I met through work.  One is the office manager at my work, another is a nurse.  2 are daughters of a former resident and the other was the hospice nurse who came in for their mother.  Isn't it nice the way God can bless us in the middle of had times?

Here's part of the group.  I'm afraid I managed to cut my co-worker off this picture!

We went to a fun restaurant that was called the Red Ball Jet Cafe - hence the red balls ad the Jet tennis shoes on display.

This restaurant used to be the city library, so it has a lot of charm... high tin ceilings and beautiful windows are part of it.

The play we went to was Honk - the story of the ugly duckling.
Here is the mother duck sitting on her nest, talking to her friend.  The friend is the daughter of our hospice nurse.

Here is the whole family - cute ducklings, and the ugly duckling (who was hilarious!)

My friend Connie and her daughter after the play.
We had a fun evening, lots of laughs and applause!

My niece is in the Winter play at the middle school and it is The Ugly Duckling. I'd never heard of it until now. Looks like you had a good time. It's been so long since I've done fun with friends.

What fun you had. I love the restaurant. I love all buildings that are used again for something other than it was first planned. I bet the play was good too. It is always nice to be with good friends. Happy Friday!

That is a neat building. I like when a building is repurposed rather than abandoned or torn down.
Nice to have the camaraderie of co-workers and be able to get together like that outside of work.
Have a great weekend, Mari.

It truly is wonderful that all of you could become friends in spite of such hard circumstances. That sounds like such a FUN evening! I remember when our high school down home did Honk, and I think some of my former students were in it, but we lived up here by then and weren't able to go see it.

Hi Mari! What a fun group! You must have a very welcoming facility, or family members would not be such good friends. That's impressive!

I am familiar with 'Honk'. My nephew was in that play this year. It's so cute! I had never heard of it before I saw him in it.
I'm glad you had such a great time!
