September Flowers
We have been blessed with the most wonderful weather this past week. It's been in the low 70's every day, and the sun has been shining.
Many of our flowers are no longer blooming, but a few really shine this time of year. Here's a few from our yard.
These are called Autumn Crocus. They put out some rather ugly leaves in the Spring, which then fade away and nothing is seen, until suddenly these beautiful flowers appear in the Fall.
Autumn Joy Sedum is white all summer long, but gets this pretty pink color in the Fall, which darkens to a burgundy color as the season progresses.
I love seeing the berries on the trees. Such a pretty spot of red!
This is our hydrangea tree. This flower also is white all summer long, but then turns to pink in the Fall. The pink gradually changes to a dusty rose color and often hangs on into the winter.

oh i love the pink hydrangeas. I so wish I had the soil to grow these beauties.

It never ceases to amaze me at God's handiwork! Beautiful flowers to move us into winter.
All so very luscious in color and shapes/textures. I've never heard of crocus blooming in the Autumn months. Incredible.
Hi Mari! I love your flower photo's, I'm learning a lot! That Joy Sedum is just spectacular. Isn't it amazing how these flowers change colors in the different season? The story of the Autumn Crocus is great too, how it hides and then springs to colorful life.

Such pretty fall color, Mari. I love that sedum. Mine is a pale lavender but your type is my favorite. Those red berries are really pretty too. Hope you have a great week.

I've never heard of a hydrangea tree, we have a hydrangea plant, but it doesn't really look that similar to your tree either.
