April showers, and more showers...

I'm happy to report the snow is gone, although it was snowing again on Saturday and Sunday.

Here's my poor car sitting in the parking lot on Sunday.

Aside from that snow, it's been raining, and raining some more!  Last week it rained every day and it's predicted every day this week as well, until Saturday.  The average rainfall for our area for the whole month of April is 3 1/4 inches.  We got 5 inches just last week and another 3 inches are predicted for this week!  So it's no surprise that the Grand River, which is about 2 miles from our house is flooding.  Here's a few pictures to show you what it looked like this weekend.

The river is usually behind that row of trees which are now out in the water.

The whole area in front of that big tree just to the right of center is usually dry.  There is  a little path to the left of that tree where you can walk next to the water.

Here you see the bridge and can see how far the water is overflowing it's banks.

It's hard to tell how high the water is here, but the river is muddier than usual and not nearly as calm.
We're hoping the weather predictions are wrong and the sun shines a little this week!

You've had a lot of precipitation! Hopefully all those April showers will be the harbinger of May flowers.

First off, a belated Happy Birthday wish to your father!! At 82, he looks marvelous.

Rain? What's that? I would seriously take a little flooding around here right 'bout now.

Looks like our Kalamazoo river over here..very full to overflow in many places. Feel bad for those living too close to it..Hope it doesn't affect your home any. Take care :-)

We get rain then freezing rain and then snow. We did have a very bad storm on Sat night and got 4" of rain now we are to get 5-6" of snow the next 2 days.
I hope that your home is not going to be affected by the flowing.
Hugs

Oh my goodness, Mari. That river makes me a little nervous. Here is hoping it recedes and there's a letup in the rain. However, you know what they say about April showers. Your flowers that Bob tends so expertly should be extra-splendid this year!

WOW! I know rain is good for the crops, but sometimes it can get scary! I can tell the river is super muddy!

That's a lot of rain! We arrived back in the UK on Sunday and we've had great weather since we've been back. Warm and dry. I hope you get some sunshine this week too!

You have gotten more than your share of rain and snow. I do hope you get some spring soon....

There certainly is no drought in your part of the country. No wonder the gardens in Michigan are unusually spectacular.

Ohio has had drought conditions for a while. We have been getting some rain.....nothing like you are having.

Rivers scare me. I like to look at them from a distance. Be safe!

Oh my! That IS a lot of rain. Almost more depressing than snow! I do hope it's not all coming our way!
