Community Fair

Our Community Fair was last week.  Alaina and Ruby usually enter things to the exhibits, and we went to see their things Friday afternoon.

Here's a view of the Fair scene; rides, food and lots of happy kids!

I love the colorful Ferris Wheel!

We walked past a man doing chain saw carving. I like this eagle.

Laura and Aaron were there with the girls, so they came to the exhibit hall to show us their entries. Here's a few of them. It was hard to see them all because they put everything behind fencing so it isn't damaged or stolen.

Ruby's leather coin purse

Ruby's woven doll blanket and pillow

Alaina's clay relief of a cactus

Alaina's cutting board with wood burned design

They had to enjoy a few rides

This is Ruby and Aaron on the Ferris wheel

You have to see the animals when you go to the Fair.  I thought these sleeping goats were cute.

We were good and didn't buy any Fair food.  :)  But, we did get a lemonade to share.

I don't get nearly as excited about the Fair as I did when I was a kid, but it's always fun to walk through and see everything, especially if your grandkids are part of it!

So much creativity, Mari. I love ❤️ the carved eagle and every other item. The ferris wheel 🎡 is so colourful and the goats 🐐 are adorable.

LOVE that wheel and the brightness. Congrats to the winners. Blue and red ribbon. Very, very cool. We used to work fairs and I tell you, the fry station almost always served half-burnt, half-raw fries. Eww. That said, looks like you had a wonderful weekend. That rocks.

It sure is a colorful fair. It’s been about 10 years since I went to the county fair. It was hot and we stayed inside looking at the exhibits.
I really like that clay cactus. 🌵 The goats are precious, sleeping like that. So sweet. The girls are great little artists and crafters. I hope they stick with it into adulthood - it will bring them much joy as they create.

The weather looks perfect! And the girl's creations are wonderful! The cutting board looks like something you would see in a high-end shop! And I would buy the coin purse.

P.S. forgot to say this is the coolest, prettiest Ferris Wheel I have ever seen!

The fair looks lovely and not too crowded. I can imagine it's lovely to see your grandkids enjoying the fair, and enjoying they enjoyment.

Congrats to the girls on winning the ribbons. They entered some awesome projects to the fair, so no wonder they won. We have a small community fair just in town by us every 4th of July weekend, but have not been there in years. Those goats are so dang cute. If we lived on a farm my Bob wanted some fainting goats. Awww....what fun! Fairs are something that I didn't get to go to very often when I was a kid. Then when we lived in my husband's home area, he managed a farm store and had a display at the county fair every summer. Our kids had plenty of opportunities to go to the fair. :)

I'm so glad that your girlies were able to be a part of it by making things for it and then winning such great reward from it. As and Bs! Good job, Girls!

We have Fireman's Fairs in our neck of the woods, but they're not as elaborate as fairs I've seen in other parts of the country. I love that they girls submitted crafts, we're missing that aspect.
